I desperately need to get some room darkening shades/blinds/curtains. For whatever reason I can not find something I look at and think "this will work".
Does anyone have some that they love? I love a pitch black room!
I've looked all over the internet and have read everything I could find, but like most people, I'd rather come here and find out what all my "friends" like.
So....anybody have some they highly recommend??
Thanks!

I have one girlfriend who I swear could be woken up by a single candleflame a half-mile down the road. :p She and her husband swear by the blackblinds here: Blackout Blinds (http://www.justblinds.com/dynamic/product.cfm?productID=74) though I'll admit I'm not wild about the colors they offer.....

I have used Smith and Noble;s products. They aren't the cheapest price, but they have nice materials and good quality.

We have room-darkening shades that we bought for both kids' rooms at Lowes. They definitely make the rooms dark enough for napping, but some light does get in around the edges, so its not pitch-black in there.

We have dark, navy blue curtains in our bedroom. Those do a decent job of keeping the light out too, though again, its not pitch-black. The windows on all of our bedrooms face south, so its a high-sun area.

When we lived in the mountains of Colorado I had to be at work at 4:30am . That meant going to bed while it was still light out :( . I bought some custom bamboo shades with black lining. They worked great and they looked really nice too.

That's me. It kills my husband when I wake up in the middle of the night and ask "did you leave the monitor (computer) on?".....it's 2 rooms away from ours, but I swear it wakes me like it was a spot light on me!

These look like what I'm looking for (and they are rather odd color choices) so I'm going to check these out some more.

The bamboo ones would look perfect in our room. Do you remember where you found them?

We ordered them online from bestblinds.com. I was nervous they wouldn't look right but they looked great. Plus, we were really happy with the quality and the customer service. Good luck!
