Hey, y'all. Quick question--I definitely pver-imbibed last night, yet to meet my running goal for the week I am scheduled to go on a 4-miler today. Is it going to hurt me at all to run in such a pathetic, hungover state?? I have spent my morning trying to rehydrate.

Wahoo! This is my forte http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
Okay, it's nothing to be proud of; I'm a trifle ashamed of my expertise in this area...
I don't know how many hangover-afflicted runs I have put myself through over the past years...especially during college, when I would wake up, still drunk, and go for a 6 mile interval workout. Yup, can't do that anymore. My Wonder Woman days are over.
Still, I continue to go for runs while I'm hung over. I find that it makes me feel better -- if I'm hydrated. I will warn you that if you go for a run dehydrated and hung over, your headache will increase ten-fold and you'll want to crawl under a rock for the rest of the day.
Usually, if I find that I'm not exactly in the best condition for a run that I'd planned -- especially if it's supposed to be a tempo or interval workout or a long run, I'll just put that one off until the next day and do a "bread and butter" run as I like to call them, instead.
If you feel like you're amply hydrated, go for it; it may reduce any sluggishness for the remainder of the day. Hope you feel better! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Hhcowgirl,
Doesn't this make it 2 weekends in a row? Tsk, tsk.
Just kiding. You have fun girl while you are still in school. You deserve it, just drink lots of water.

No, no Kerri, I skipped a weekend in between http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif. You are right, though, I have been very bad recently--and all those empty calories!! Thanks for the moral support, though--I agree I "deserve" it since I study so hard all the time!!
Anyway, I wish I had read Emilycat's post before I took the plunge and went for an under-nourished and dehydrated run. My muscles are crying out in pain today, I think from the total lack of hydration from which I suffered yesterday. I ran on coffee--yuck! Sorry, legs!! Anyway, I am at the library now w/ 2, yes, 2 huge bottles of evian by my side, so hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. Thanks for your help!!

Natasha, I am LOL! You are as bad as I am. I am grading papers for my class and tell myself for each 10 I grade I can take a break. I am cursing myself for deciding there was not enough homework last semester so I upped it. Oh yeah.... that was smart http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif

Most definitely. I also took breaks to make cookies, do pushups, and tons of abs. Yes, I would even much rather do abs!! Now I m going to work until bedtime and that is that.
Good luck with the papers (or maybe you re done by now?). BTW, I saw on the other thread about how you ve started teaching and are enjoying it. That s awesome; I m happy to hear that. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Natasha--
How funny, that is just how I work too. I "reward" myself with either ab work (yes, I have even done it at the library http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif) or e-mail/the bb. IMO, we deserve breaks!

hhcowgirl,
In the library?! You're even worse than me. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
BTW, don't sweat the drinks. After all, the purpose of law school is to get admitted to a bar, right? This is all just practical experience. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
(I know. I know. It's a Monday; cut me some slack.)
Alysha,
Forgot to wish you good luck with your Y plan on the other post. Sounds pretty austere, but I'm sure your modifications will make it much more enjoyable. Let us know how it goes.
