Thanks in no small part to the advice and encouragement from the wonderful people on this Board, I successfully completed my first half-marathon yesterday! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
It was very, very fun and exciting. My time was not great (2 hours, 10 minutes), but I finished, and that was my goal.
Again, thank you, thank you for the wonderful advice and support.
I am so proud of you!! Who gives a flying cookie about your time, you finished! I admire you and wish you the best of luck for the future!

See the great thing about not being "happy" with your time is that it just means you can do another one to get a better time!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
Congratulations.

Susie,
Congrats! I'm so proud of you! I actually ran a half yesterday, too, and also accomplished my goal...so we must have been encouraging each other in spirit! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
And, really, I love Star's "who gives a flying cookie" phrase... now you can have fun making new goals!
So I have to ask, what's next? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

That's awesome! I hope to run a half-marathon this fall and your time is exactly what I am shooting for as a goal. Great job. Glad to know you thought it was fun as well.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Y'all are awesome!
Thanks, everybody.
Next up: Tampa Bay Marathon in December (and probably a few 5-15Ks in between).
