Hi...I am new to the board, but really enjoy all of the posts!! I have noticed that lots of the members enjoy running for their cardiovascular workouts...I do to, but because of a recent knee injury I shouldn't. I used to swim competitivly, but stopped a couple of years ago because my college classes were taking up lot of my time.
Anyway, I was wondering if any one else was interested in maybe challenging eachother weekly with some swimming sets. I know this would be a great motivator for me to get back into the water and I hope it would also be for others...so what do you think?

I am a swimmer and just joined a masters team again this past fall. I love it!! I always had a hard time staying in the pool long enough to get a good work out without getting bored. I'd be happy to share workouts though- I usually go Mon/Wed and sometimes Fri.

If I find a pool to swim in, might join in. I need to start swimming again to get ready for the triathlon I am doing in August (plus it's just a great workout). I find it difficult to swim in the winter though. I will lurk around this post and get ideas for different sets off you two (and then likely cut them in half! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif)
A fellow swimmer! I would love to be in on your swim challenge. I also swam competitivly in school. I have continued to swim for triathlons. But get really bored. Not to many other people want to swim at the time I am at the pool. Please let me know. I will dig up some of my old workouts also! Originally posted by echimp:

Hello! I absolutely love swimming. I am a 24 year old uterine cancer survivor of five years and I have found swimming to be one of my favorite exercises during my recovery. I love it because it's not too hard on my body, I feel SO good afterwards like my whole body has been worked, and (a benefit for me) it seems to really help my appetite! Can't beat it!
