Hey...I am glad to see that others were interested in swimming...I am planning to go to the pool on Thursday and thought I would share my intended workout with you guys.
(Note: my workouts are in yards)

Warm up: 500 swim, 300 kick, 200 pull
4 x 50 drill, 4 x 50 free on :50 sec

Main sets:
Rpeated 3 times
2 x 50 on :45
2 x 75 on 1:30 1st time through: free
3 x 100 on 1:45 2nd time: choice
2 x 75 on 1:30 3rd time: free
2 x 50 on :45
ez 100
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
300 kick no board
300 pull breathing every 3, 5, 7 strokes by
50's
4 x 50 choice on :50

Warm down: 200 ez or more!!
Total yards: 4900

Good luck...feel free to mix and match or leave some of the sets out. For a long time I was a sprinter and breastroker so my sets are usually sprint sets, but I do enjoy swimming distance sets also. Keep in touch with how you did...I look forward to seeing other workouts. I will be posting some more, hopefully creative workouts later!!

Thought I'd share our Sunday morning workout from my masters team.


Warmup:
2 times:
100-2:00
75 -1:30
50 -1:00
25 -:30
alternate swim and kick by sendoff

1 time:
6x 25 stroke on :40

Main set

3 times through the whole following:

250 - 5:00 (100 swim, 75 kick, 50 one arm, 25 stroke)

3 x(75 on :55
50 on :55)

3 x 100 on 3:00 broken 10 seconds at the 50 descend 1 -3

Warmdown 175

Total: 3600 yards
