HI all! I have a task for you.... I am doing sort of a focus group on here... I am just starting and haven't gotten very far on my website so here is my explanation and initial questions-please answer as well as you can!
I am a Personal & Group Trainer. I have a B.S. in Kinesiology and Physical Education and a M.S. in Health Education. I am ACE certified with an additional concentration/certificate in Pre/Post Natal Exercise. I have focused on women, aging populations, childhood obesity, stress education and strength and conditioning (collegiate mostly). I currently work in a corporate fitness center, but am working on building a personal training business outside of work that hopefully someday will become my full time job. So now i am working on building a website for this, as I realize this is how most people find information these days and I feel that I will have a much better chance of gaining clientele if they have something to look at and reference!
So I need to know what you look for in a website. I want this to start off as a simplistic site that is user friendly and informative. I will add more as I go on (such as workout diary, calorie counter (if I can) and other pages), but for now I just need the basics.
Can you please send me some ideas of what you look for when looking at a website?
Colors you like?
Do you look for a bio page?
Pictures?
Do you like many choices (such as different links on each page) or just a few (one or two to link to on a page)?
Do you often just link the contact information right from the website or do you copy and paste it on to your email?
When looking at a personal trainers website, would you like to also see links to dieticians, massage therapist, various other medical professionals they work with and refer members to, or would you rather find your own?
Do you like Quote's of the week? Article's of the month? Exercise of the week/month? Motivational words? Etc.... Any other ideas?
Ok-I think this will be a good start-I don't want to overwhelm you. Even if you don't have answers for all of these or you only want to answer one-all feedback will be very valuable. And if there is anything I haven't thought of please let me know. I really look forward to all feedback you may have!
Thank you so much!
Michelle
