OK, what did everybody think? Next week looks VERY interesting. I'm not sure that I think that Laura is right... maybe just jealous????? Didn't like what I saw of Michael's ....

I enjoyed last night's show. I love getting a look at where the designers live and their families. I expected Laura's husband to be a tall, distinguished-looking older gentlement and was a little surprised to see Albert Einstein. Wow, all those boys running around. The turtle poop was cute though.
As for Laura being jealous, I'm not so sure she's jealous -- I think she really wonders how he could have finished everything so perfectly. He was the only one with nothing last minute to do. I am pretty sure they find that he is in the clear, because he was obviously at Fashion Week. I don't think I could have said anything if I were Laura. I probably would have kept my doubts to myself.
Michael's stuff did look a little tacky last night, but when I viewed his fashions online I thought he had a great looking line. In fact, they all did. I'm wondering if Uli might be the dark horse. We'll find out next week!!

I am so afraid that Michael is going to be this year's Daniel V., where he kicks butt in the season challenges, but loses at FW :( I think at this point it's Laura vs. Jeffrey for the winner.
I think Laura had a very good point about how he could have had time to complete everything (perfectly) while ALSO working on his other clothing line. Maybe he was exaggerating that part and it led to her suspicions. It looks to me like his tears next week are tears of joy and that he is cleared.

Perhaps with all Jeffrey had on his plate really forced him to buckle down and get everything done in advance so he would have time for that last minute challenge they threw at the designers in Season 2.
Then again, would we really be talking about the show as much if everyone got along? Editing plays a big part in this show, so the producers knew what they wanted to show and what would get great ratings.
Yes, I am not sure if Michael will win since he has been doing so well throughout the season. Then again, perhaps the third time is the charm and he will win. I am rooting for Uli to really break out and shine.

I think Jeffrey's tears were tears of joy, too. My DH (who is a closet fan) was aghast -- because he doesn't read anything online he didn't know that the "scandal" was coming. He was so cute, he said, "But they HAVE to let him show at Fashion Week!!" Then he was embarrassed for himself. I love it that he gets into the show but will not admit it to anyone!

My DH (who is so not a closet fan, who has actually purchased his own sewing machine since getting hooked this season, whole 'nother story :p ) and I got into a big debate over whether it was wrong of Laura to voice her suspicions. I sided with Laura, he thinks she is a big tattle tale. We seriously debated it for 15 minutes. Ugh, do we not have better things to do, apparently not :p

I don't think Jeffrey cheated. I think he did the work. Of course his finishing is outstanding, he does this full time and he's got a professional space with lots of professional equipment. He didn't put it all together on his Singer at home!
But I also understand where Laura was coming from, and I respect that she actually told him what she was thinking instead of continuing to talk behind his back. They're under so much pressure and they all want to win for their own reasons.
I agree that Jeffrey is probably crying tears of relief in the preview to next week's episode.

That was fun to see, but I kept waiting for the last minute challenge to show up. It doesn't look like there's going to be one, so that's disappointing.
I haven't looked ahead to see the actual finished lines, but I have to say that from this episode, Michael's looks like he got a little inspiration from Kayne for a few pieces. So far Uli's things still look like Uli as well. So for me, it looks like it could be between Laura and Jeffery.

I, too, was shocked at Laura's husband. Never would have picked him out of a lineup to be with her! Seems like a nice guy though - very supportive of Laura. He's a champ for taking care of all 5 boys while she was filming! I also love her apartment.
As for Jeffrey and his crying, I couldn't quite tell. Tim says something like "We've investigated this issue and unfortunately...." there it stops. If he's being allowed to show (yes, I peeked at the pictures, so I know he did), what could Tim possibly be saying then? That he can still show but be DQ'd from judging? (I can't see that being the case, though) Any ideas?

oh -- I didn't hear Tim say 'unfortunately' for next week's show. I, too, thought that he would be cleared,,,, but Uli could have been hugging him for other than good reasons... but if you all saw his collection (I have NOT looked, want to be surprised) then it would appear that he got to show,,, but then, again............................ I do love the show and will miss it,,, but also like Top Chef which will replace it for now!

I'm sure he did a lot, but I have a hard time believing that a dual income couple (she was an architect until recently, no?) in a loft like that doesn't have at least one or two nannies on staff. But yeah; there's always slack to be picked up when the routine gets disrupted.

I think he's saying something like "Unfortunately, allegations like this are hard to prove." or "Unfortunately, suspicions have been raised about Jeffrey's work." He'll probably go on to say something about how the allegations were investigated and found to be false--or somesuch. . .
On the other hand, they could have decided to remove him from the competition, but still let him show, since the collection was complete.
But I think my first guess is more likely.

I think your first guess is right too, sounds like something Tim would say.
The second guess is plausible, but if that happened to you, would you still show? What would be in it for you at that point, except for the chance for others to see your work (which may be enough compensation, I guess).
I just can't see Jeffrey being happy with that outcome.
It's on right now! I'm going to watch it again and see if I can remember it long enough to reproduce here...
OK, he says "We have taken these concerns very seriously, and unfortunately..." cut to Jeffrey starting to cry.
Now, editing is in everything, so I'm thinking that's at play here at some level. I'm just not sure how...

Whether he was guilty or not, I think they still would have allowed him to show at Bryant Park to keep the audience guessing. Fashion week was over a while ago, and everyone would have known the outcome if he did not show his collection...

What a cute story! :)
I think Laura was right to say what she did. I am suspicious of Jeffrey too . On the previous seasons, all the contestants were scrambling around to finish last minute details before FW and now this season Jeffrey is fancy free with nothing to do.
And yeah, Laura's DH was TOTALLY unexpected. He did seem nice though and I loved their loft. I would like to see a show just on their family because they are so different and interesting. I would have assumed that Laura would have liked to have a girl this time but she doesn't even seem fazed by yet another boy -- she is just cool! I would love to have her confidence level.
Can't wait for the finale!!!

Just came across an online article by Marisa Guthrie about the Project Runway Fashion Week show.
Check out the 7th paragraph. (http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/ent_radio/story/452792p-381034c.html) Looks like it may clear-up the Jeffery question.

I'm not sure -- the article was published Sept. 17 -- way before we found out that all four would show at Bryant Park ...

I just read it.
Even so, I just can't see Jeffrey being happy to show if he's told beforehand that he's being exempted from judging. Unless, he's not told he's dq'd until AFTER the show is over, then maybe I can see that.
If I've worked hard on a collection, and I'm expecting to be a part of the competition with all that it entails, I just can't see myself being OK with showing, but not getting a chance to win. I just think it would be hard to portray that emotion when I'm not feeling the real excitement of what showing means, in this case. Hope that makes sense.
I guess all I can do is wait for Wednesday to find out!

If I'm not mistaken Fashion Week was Sept 8-15 with PR's event on Friday the 15th. On Sept 17th the show would have already taken place.
It'll be interesting to see the finale. I'm anxious to see all of the collections.
