This has happened to me on more than one occasion and presents a two-part dilemma. Here goes:
I find a recipe in some source (magazine, cookbook, this board) and it turns out great! I decide to add it Mastercook (I only add tried-and-true recipes). I get the recipe all ready to save and get the message that recipe already exists. This happened yesterday with "Carrots Glazed with Balsamic Vinegar and Butter". I then have to make decision to overwrite original recipe....but at this point, I don't know what original recipe is. After all, I haven't made it before, right? But, it seems like I have made it before.
Here are the questions:
Do you always look at MC (or other cooking program) files BEFORE you make a recipe to see if you've made it before? OR, can you remember every single recipe you've ever made?
In MC, how do you look at original recipe (the one you didn't know you had!) while not losing the content of the recipe you've just added and are attempting to save? I need to do this to determine if recipe is the same recipe or a different recipe. The recipe yesterday had a pretty specific title and chances were pretty good it was the same recipe, but what if it's a pretty generic type recipe (i.e., buttermilk biscuits)?
Thanks.
