I'm thinking of buying a pedometer. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are they worthwhile? If you have one you like, what is the brand, where did you get it & how much did it cost. Any advice would be appreciated.

I bought a pedometer about a year ago from a running catalog but could never get the darn thing to register the distance correctly. A waste of $30.
If I want to know the mileage of a course, I drive it - it's more accurate and saves money.

I had the same problem with my pedometer. There's a path along the main highway, and when I walk it with my pedometer it comes up way short, even though the path has little hills and curves that the road doesn't.
I put mine on my waist (where the instruction said) - is this right? Should it be somewhere else - like strapped to my ankle? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

My friend uses Sportbrain, which has been described to me as a fancy pedometer, and she swears by it. You can check it out at
