You can view their website here. (http://www.shatleysprings.com)
It is really a beautiful ride into the country. They are located near
West Jefferson, NC. The food is country style...you can check the menus at their website.
They have cabins, although I haven't really seen the inside of them.
On weekends there is bluegrass music, gospel music or country music and there is a huge porch where you can sit and rock to the music while waiting to be called. There are a couple of little shops where you can shop while you wait. Nothing fancy, but really clean atmosphere.
There is a cheese factory at West Jefferson and then there are the frescoes. I got this information from a website:
Churches of the Frescoes
JW Luke Rd | Glendale Springs and Beaver Creek Rd | West Jefferson

Ben Long painted three frescoes at St. Mary's "Mary Great with Child" in 1974; "John the Baptist" in 1975; and "The Mystery of Faith" in 1977. In the summer of 1980, he painted the fresco of "The Last Supper" at Holy Trinity. Visitors are welcome.
The frescoes are really beautiful. If there are any North Carolinian board members who haven't been or anyone planning a visit, you might want to check out this place. Especially with the beautiful autumn that we are experiencing.
