Has anyone used any of the drugs on the market meant to make your brain want to diet?
I'm not talking about the ones you get over the counter like Dexatrim but the ones you see on tv with the large lady walking on the beach or where they ask "if you could just leave a little bit on your plate at each meal...". What are they? Antidepressants? I am trying to lose weight and although my body is doing it my brain is screaming for chips, icecream, and more tv, less walking!!!!
I want to go to my doctor for help but thought that if there was anyone out there using them now you might give me some insight.
Thank you for your honesty and allowing me this little look into your lives.

Unless you're really quite overweight, you probably shouldn't use the drugs. They have terrible side effects. If you want to learn more about them, you should have a talk with your doctor. He or she might be able to help you with non-drug alternatives. I've known several people who took them. These people were not very overweight, but they thought the pills would be easier than lifestyle changes. Not a good idea. Lifestyle changes are so beneficial in the long run.
