Has anyone seen any good deals? CL actually called me two weeks ago and "offered" me this "totally great deal". $22 for a year. Geez! I told the girl I'd seen better offers than that and I paid $11 for my last year. I laughed and told her I've been subscribing to CL since 1994, you'd think they could do better than that for a loyal subscriber. She had nothing to say. :p

My son's school was selling magazines and I renewed for 2 years for either $20 or $22. I know this time of year, there are usually offers that come in the mail, but I haven't seen any. Mine wasn't due until next summer, but I couldn't pass the deal and it helped the school.

I don't have a CL by my side but I know when I got the magazine in the Spring it wasn't that much. I would have been annoyed with that girl-and it would probably tempt me not to resubscribe because I can't stand that-but I would probably keep subscribing because I love it:^)---but I digress. I think I have seen it in the magazine for $11--If you have any old ones - get one out of there or go to the store and just grab a subscription card from a mag.

I'm not sure about this site, but they have an offer for $13.00 with the coupon code.

I just signed up for CL with Magazine Price Search and it was $20 for 2 years. That was the best deal I could find. :) Even though we have a sub for CL right now, we decided to let it lapse and do a new sub for less. :D
Price search says to allow up to 11 weeks for first issue to arrive. Since my current sub expires in Jan, ordering the new one now should be just about right and I might only have one issue overlap.

Thanks for the link! My subscription is set to expire in January, so I think I will check out www.magazinepricesearch.com

My nephew sold magazines as his back-to-school fundraiser. They had an excellent deal of two years for $18!!!! 22 issues! If I had found out about it early enough, I told my sister I would have posted the information here. Unfortunately, he was down to only a day or so before he had to turn in the orders.

I think that takes my subscription out to about 2067. :D :o (Actually, I think it will be 2009 when it expires.)

Actually, that's the deal I got from my son. I would have posted here, but didn't want to be kicked off in case it was considered SPAM.

I've gotten a lot of magazines through Magazine Price Search. I ordered them on June 15th. None came before August. I'm still waiting for 3 out of 15.

The three companies that are dragging their feet are:
bestdealmagazines.com
magazinesquick.com
netmagazines.com

The easiest one to deal with was Deltamagazines. I got Cooking Light from them for $9 a year.

Oh, eta: be sure to pay attention to the number of issues you're buying. Some of the rates look wonderful until you realize it's for 6 issues of a monthly magazine.

I was willing to take a chance. I *THINK* most people consider spammers to be those hit-and-post people who appear ONCE to sell something. With you over 11,000 posts and me over 4,000 posts, I think we would have been forgiven. :D And is it considered to be a spam when a wonderful deal on *THIS* particular magazine is offered? And, besides, wouldn't we also need to have "prescriptions, all prescriptions, any type of prescriptions, blue pills, pink pills, polkadot pills" and some really horrible grammar for it to count?

"Prescriptions for you cooking light $18 blue pills for 2 years click here."

:D :D :D Oh heck, it's the weekend. They'll be here shortly anyway. <sigh>

I got a letter from CL yesterday containing an offer to renew my subscription for $16 and get a subscription for a friend for free. I know $16 isn't the best price for a subscription, but $8 each was great and with that offer I couldn't resist... and my friend is delighted :D

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be checking out your ideas since I need to get going. At this point, I'll have to buy one or two off the shelf. :o

Just FYI, you don't have to let your subscription lapse and start new with Magazine Price Search. I have used them to successfully renew my current subscriptions. When you sign up, there is a drop down box that allows you to check new subscription or renewal. If you check renewal, when they send it in to CL, they'll just tack it on to your old subscription. Apparently it all goes through the same warehouse ultimately, and they don't really care where you sign up or renew from.

I have purchased a number of subscriptions via Ebay. "Disclaimer - I have no conection whatsoever with this seller", but I have purchased about 6 magazine subscriptions from them and never had a problem - cooking light subscription (http://cgi.ebay.com/2yr-COOKING-LIGHT-Magazine-SUBSCRIPTION-22-issues_W0QQitemZ290039708858QQihZ019QQcategoryZ796 31QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem) . They are currently offering CL for 2 years for $15.88, with free S & H. There are other deals on EBay too, but I am not as familiar with some of the sellers, but you could check their ratings.

Thanks for the FYI Grace. I did miss that drop down menu with the new or renew choices. The other reason we let it lapse is because I wanted to put the magazine in my name. It's in DW's name now.
