Anyone with thoughts on last night's show?
I'm glad they don't seem to be dragging things on just to drag them on with this series. Every week seems action packed with pieces fitting together all the time.

My thought was "Wow...Hiro's accent is completely gone in the future." And are you wondering if the cheerleader that they need to save is little miss indestructible or another girl? Because I can't think of anything that they would need to save that girl from, the girl walked out of the room mid-autoposy for crying out loud.
Do we think her dad is Syler?

LOVE the show!
And I was excited to see it was a Simoneless episode. I just don't like her.
I have the same anticipation I did with the first season of Lost. Hopefully NBC won't mess with the schedule the way ABC does.
I want to fly like Nathan!
I also wonder if they're going to kill Greg Grundbergs wife? I can't believe he grabbed the gun. Smooth move ex-lax.

I don't know why, but I expected Nathan to react differently to Hiro; but after some thought, I realized that he's in total denial. Maybe not that he has the ability to fly, but that he doesn't want people to know about it. I would have thought, tho, that this episode in the desert might have changed him some.
I'm glad to see Isaac coming around...was it odd that Peter didn't make the connection to Hiro when Isaac told him that a Japanese guy kept calling? Do you think that he'll continue to get high to paint, or will he let Peter do it for him? I'm also glad to see that Matt and his wife are back on track...I was hoping he'd confide in her and that she'd believe him and support him. And how come the black dude "wiped his mind," but it appears that he can still read thoughts? Speaking of that guy---I didn't get a good look at Niki's husband. Is he the same guy?
Is Mohinder just a catalyst, or does he have some sort of power that we haven't seen yet? Maybe I should read the graphic novels. :D

Definitely not the same guy.

I think Peter did make the connection with Hiro and that's why he answered the phone when Isaac said it was a "wrong number Japanese guy". He said he had a message for him, right?
KristiB- I don't watch Lost but I'm a little afraid that this show will start to get totally confusing and they'll start bringing in all this stuff and no one understands it anymore. I'm trying to have faith though!
I don't know. Maybe they have to save Claire from her creepy dad? It was kind of nice to see the quarterback get something for his actions even if it was a mind-wiping! ;)

I loved last nights episode.
Did you all notice that "good" Nikki didn't have the tattoo on her shoulder?
I agree that Peter got the connection about the Japanese guy that kept calling. I think he recognized the name - and probably also Hiro from Isaac's painting.
I think Nathan has been practicing! Well I know he's done it at least once by himself according to the graphic novel. I think he's going to end up being a reluctant hero. We're starting to see a nicer side of him (giving Hiro a ride).
I would have found it out of character if Nathan had embraced Hiro. I'm sure he thinks that Hiro saw him flying and perhaps is just bit weird but cute.
No Mind-Wiper and DL (Micah's dead) aren't the same characters. Matt can't remember where he was for the last day but he still has his power.
I think Horned-Rim Glasses guy (Claire's Dad) will be government or something like that. I don't think he's Sylar. He did cross the line in wiping the quarterback's mind in my opinion but I was happy to see that the guy had paternal feelings for Claire (he really cares about her I think, another reason I don't think he's Sylar). I also thought Claire's confession to doing something wrong too just re-enforced that she doesn't need to be saved from "going to the dark side" - If you read the comic then she never intended to kill the quarterback and in fact saved him when the car caught on fire unexpectedly.
As far as why "save the cheerleader" - I think either Sylar really wants her (to add that power to the others would make him invincible or close to it maybe) or perhaps she has something to do with being able to stop the nuclear bomb - ability to recover from the exposure or something. Or just to get her away from her father.
I find Mohinder's actions a little troubling. He's come all the way to NY to find out about his dad, done all this to figure out what his Dad's research is doing and then when he finds someone who says they're a hero- he dismisses them (when he approached that person's brother and he should at least suspect - or feel his father suspected - genetic relationship).
I wouldn't be surprised if Matt's wife ends up dead at some point. I think he's really going to have to figure out how to deal with his powers or go crazy. I don't think it was far-fetched for him to pick up the gun - a police officer wouldn't just leave a gun sitting on the shelf. I think he would have pocketed it or whatever but he became overwhelmed with all the feedback.
One last thing - maybe Isaac will figure out he can paint without the drugs since Peter could do it without the drugs (and Isaac wasn't high at the time). I can't see the show supporting drug use even for a good reason - or maybe he'll still end up dead.

Actually, according to NBC's website (in their episode recaps section, which is written out in pictures and text), it IS the same guy...
(I missed the episode and went there to see what I missed.) :D

I thought last night's episode was really good! I'm enjoying seeing how all the heroes are starting to come together, and learn about each other. They're bonding quickly because no one else believes/would believe them if they outed themselves about their powers.
I am so curious about what happens in the future...How does Peter get his scar? Why is Claire so integral to saving the world? How will Matt meet up with the other Heroes, since he seems fairly removed from the rest of them right now, other than he, Claire, and Nathan have all had contact with Claire's dad. And why does Hiro speak perfect English without and accent in the future? How far into the future did he come from?
Speaking of Hiro and his English...If he knows some English -- enough to communicate pretty well to Nathan -- why doesn't he ever try speaking English when he phones Isaac? Seems like he would, since his reason for calling is so important.
Kim -- I missed that Good Nikki doesn't have a tattoo. That's interesting! I can't wait to see what that symbol means and why it's so important.
I was also surprised that Mohinder gave up so easily when Peter wanted to go back to Isaac's. Seemed out of character for him to not believe someone who came forward about his powers. I guess just because he couldn't show Mohinder a power in the first few hours of meeting him, he has written him off as a wacko or something.

Interesting! (although on NBC of course ;) ). I did a quick read of the boards there and there are several people who think the "reviewers" got it wrong. I didn't think appearances were quite the same but I guess I'll continue to wait and see on it. It doesn't seem like Mind Wiper or Mystery Man or whatever his "name" is would be an outlaw on the run. You'd think they could have done something about that.
The graphic novel for this week deals with DL and provides some interesting feedback. (This is not covered in the comic) but I think it's actually "dark" Niki that killed the people that he was put in jail for. He's covering for her.
With him back - it'll be interesting to see what happens with Niki, DL and Nathan (who we still don't know what's the issue with his wife).

Great theory! I hadn't thought of that, but it makes perfect sense! That's why Micah so strongly believes in his father's innocence. He seems aware of things his mother tries to hide from him, like her "profession", so perhaps he also knows about her alter-ego.
I didn't think DL and The Mind Eraser were the same guy either, but I suppose I could be wrong. It has been known to happen. ;) I just didn't think they looked like the same guy. It would help if Claire's dad would refer to The Mind Eraser by name. :p

I don't think they are the same guy, they don't look at anything alike. If they are the same guy for some reason, then there must be an explanation as to why the two look different.
I had the same thought regarding Niki last night, I think you're right.

Okay I did a little digging - they're not the same. I found these on the NBC boards - trying to find actor's names.
MM (Mr. Bennet's Assistant/Mind Wiper or whatever)

Aww man! If we can't count on the creators of the show to get their facts straight, what hope do WE have? :D

According to www.imdb.com D.L. Hawkins is played by Leonard Roberts and the aptly titled Mysterious Man is played by Jimmy Jean-Louis so..... two different people. OKAY SO RUNNERKIM GOT THIS POSTED BEFORE I DID! :D
BEFORE I went there I was going to say that we needed to remember we saw the man in Niki's apartment/house but no one told us that it was her husband - we just assumed. But I guess the info from imdb puts that to rest.
I agree that Micah seems to know a lot more about his mom than she thinks he does. She was SO surprised last week to find out he knew what she was doing.
and NO I did NOT notice that "good" Niki didn't have a tattoo - DANG IT! That was the 1 thing I wanted to pay attention for and didn't. I'll have to watch it again now.
I'm not so sure what is going on with Matt. He didn't seem to have any problems with "listening" to his wife's mind but suddenly keys in to everyone's thoughts while in the store? Maybe when he is concentrating on any one specific thing that opens up a "gateway" and he can't STOP it from happening. He was alone with his wife so there was no interference but in the store there were already a lot of people there so there was nothing to stop it from happening.
Speaking of Hiro and his English...If he knows some English -- enough to communicate pretty well to Nathan -- why doesn't he ever try speaking English when he phones Isaac? Seems like he would, since his reason for calling is so important.
Remember when he got in the car, I think last episode, and told Ando that Isaac had hung up on him again and that he needed to learn how to say "__________" in english. It never said that he DIDN'T know how to speak english, he just didn't know how to say that phrase.
Although, I realize that "horn-rimmed guy" crossed the line, I was SO GLAD he did something that made us realize that he really does care about Claire instead of just considering her a science experiment.
Did anyone else notice the painting at the end? Claire's skull was cut off and I can only assume that Sylar had stolen her brain. There is a HUGE clue there - whatever their powers are is definitly contained in the brain and if he, Sylar, can get those then he captures their power. Remember, Claire was dead until the stick was removed from her brain. HRG & MM doesn't mess with their abilities they are only attempting to gain information/learn about it/study them etc., they aren't harming their abilities.
A co-worker wanted to know why Peter could paint if Isaac wasn't high and I told him because Isaac doesn't realize he has this power - whether he is high or not - he hasn't figured out how to tap into his power without the aid of the drugs. He may NEVER figure that out and will NEED Peter to be able to continue painting their clues.

A couple of interesting thoughts that I found when I was trying to get the supporting evidence about MM and DL
Maybe it's not Claire in the painting but that other cheerleader that took credit for her rescue during the fire (episode 1). Maybe. Not sure Sylar would be fooled by a non-hero but I could see it playing out.
I also think Hiro's English has been improving dramatically since he's been in the US (as you would expect it to). He also got rather excited when talking to Isaac on the phone and it would be natural to have a more difficult time speaking in English.
What about the rift comment that Hiro made. That he had to be careful about not causing a rift. So he want just jump around in time however he wants. I read something that said maybe that explains the different photos of Chandra Suresh on the backs of the books. Maybe Hiro caused there to be more than one Chandra???
And does Linderman(n) really exist? Perhaps it's the Asian woman who's created the identity (to be taken more seriously in the mob world?). Could it be Mr. Bennet? (How did he know where NIki and Nathan were? Do all the "tested" Heroes have tracking devices).

When watching the show last night I thought the same thing.
Thought it was also interesting how Claire's father defended her when he learned of the attempted rape. Gave him a second chance and then erased his mind hoping he makes something of himself with this second chance???
Yes, I noticed the tattoo on bad Nikki and not good. Screamed out when they flashed on it last night (guess I got a little excited).
Agree with Raka1214 about the painting at the end being a big clue. When they first flashed on it it looked real and current blood was flowing then as the camera pulled away it was a painting of the future.
As Escher points out, Niki is awfully forgetful, not sure what to make of that other than perhaps other Niki comes from the future but then where does good Niki go? Does that make sense? And what was with when someone was at her front door at the end and all the police were there, she pulls her son in front of her and stands there waiting (not shielding her son from what might be at the door). Just seemed odd.
