Is anyone interested in doing a dinner club in the Montgomery county MD area? For some reason they all seem to be based in NoVA or DC and driving to these places on the weekends seems to be a bit painful since you never know when traffic around here will hit.

My husband and I live in Silver Spring (woodmoor area) and are looking to join/create a club with other 20-30 somethings (single or married) so we can meet new people and socalize a bit more. We are up to meeting on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings once a month.

Have you received much response? I am in Gaithersburg (not sure where that is in relation to where you are). I also noticed that there's a lot of groups in VA or DC and would like to do something local.

You are my first response! I'm thinking of posting an Ad on Craiglist as well. I don't seem to be getting much response on here. I will keep you posted on what I find though. Thanks for responding.

I'm interested in joining. I live in the Rockville area and noticed the same thing - that so many of the clubs are in NOVA!

Hi,
My husband and I would be interested in joining a Cooking Club near us. We're in Bethesda. Looking forward to hearing from you. Carrie

I would also be interested in joining a club in Montgomery County. Do the supper clubs normally meet on the weekends or weekdays too?
I have not been part of a supper club in the past, so I will look to you for direction on how we proceed from here.

Stumbled upon this thread. Here's what I have posted on the "Great Food" thread. So far we have about a dozen people who are interested. Hopefully you will be too!

A new supper club is forming in Maryland, and the first meeting will be Sunday December 3, 2:00 PM in Rockville, MD.

The theme will be Holiday Cookie Exchange, since between Thanksgiving and Christmas, many of us will probably not have time to properly cook anything for the supper club.

Tea and hot chocolate and other cookie-friendly beverages will be provided. We can sample cookies, get to know each other and take cookies home!

We welcome anyone who's in the DC metro area--including, but not limited to, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, DC, etc. and anyone who's willing to travel great distances just for food and fun!

If interested, please email Christine at yliub@yahoo.com
