I just returned from Maryland where I went to pick up many things my grandmother left behind when she passed away a few years ago. I came across a lovely knitted throw/quilt/blanket (not sure exactly what to call it). It has a hole in the middle of it, and I have no idea how to knit or how to find somebody that can repair it for me. It's one of the few things I have to remember her, so it's very special to me and I'm willing to pay somebody to repair it for me, but I just don't know where to look.

Can anybody help me? Any information would be appreciated as to who I can call to repair this for me, or better yet, if anybody here can knit and would like to repair it, I will ship it to you and pay for your time, supplies, etc. Please post or PM me if you prefer.

Thanks so much,
Mindy

You might try contacting a local yarn store. They may have someone who could fix it for you, or could put you in touch with someone who can.

Good luck!

An independent yarn store would be an excellent source. Try for one that provides knitting lessons.

Depending on the yarn and pattern, it might be very difficult to fix. Yarn types have changed over the years and the color and dye lot might be impossible to match.
