HI! So for my birthday (May 2005) I received a Kodak EasyShare CX7530 Digital Camera. I HATE this camera. I have had nothing but problems with it! My fault because when I found out my b'friend was going to get me a digital and I found out he was going to spend $500 on one-I about passed out and said not for me he is not---dumb, dumb, dumb-what was I thinking-I had a friend that got this one for his mom and said she liked it-so I figured it is much less expensive and I am not an expert photographer-so get this one--did I say "dumb" yet? Ugh... nothing but problems-have already sent it in to be fixed once and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't-depends when it wants to- and it takes forever to take the picture and get ready to take another-today I went skydiving for the first time ever and my boyfriend couldn't get a good pic because it took too long!

So besides venting-my question-has anyone else had problems with these cameras-what did you do? And does anyone suggest a different one? And why!

Thanks-I am so frustrated!
Michelle

You have my sympathies - vent away! We've got an older version of it - it has the same problem of being really sloooowwww to take pictures and has a tendency to go into "processing" mode at the work possible times. We miss a lot of action shots, but for the price ($99 about 5 years ago) it takes decent pictures when it does work. Bits and pieces are starting to break and/or fall off so we're probably going to have to get a new one for Christmas.

I have the Kodak Easy Share DX4330 3.1MP and it has been a great camera for me. I am going to replace it this Christmas, but not because I am having problems with it. I want a camera that has a stronger optical zoom. I have mostly been looking at the Canon Power Shot cameras, but I am also intrigued by the Canon and Nikon Digital SLR cameras.

Here are some good websites that might help you decide what to replace your Kodak with:

http://www.newegg.com/

Maybe you could put a new camera on your Christmas wish list? :)
