I'm about thisclose to buying a website....

And, you know what? It's a chatroom...
No, seriously... I think it will be good for me (I'm in IT, anyhow, and I could use some website building/hosting experience)

However, it will be a labor of love, and won't have any annoying ads or such...

So, if I did purchase the site, ol' Escher here would be the moderator...

I'm sure that sends a shudder up the spines of some....

Decision date arrives in about two weeks...keep your fingers crossed for me....

So what will/would your criteria be for acceptable posts? Or would it be anything goes?

That's what I was thinking. It boggles the mind to think what topics Escher would object to . . .

No spam.
No threatening posts.
No "outing" of personal details of other posters.
I'll have an auto-filter for curse words...but I'll have creative replacements for bad words (instead of asteriks)
Politics would be separate from the rest of the forums.

I may, or may not, enable url coding. I've only been to one site that allowed it, and it was pretty fun, but I imagine a few bad apples could really cause havoc. I'll probably enable that by default, but have a pretty low tolerance for url tomfoolery.

I'd also have a poster reward system....ranking people based on post count....giving them more access to rights like starting threads, smilie posting, image posting, etc...
