just wanted to thank everyone. She ended having 7 teeth removed in addition to the one that fell out from last year's leap from the second floor window  . Surgery was Tuesday, she is doing better with pain meds and antibiotics. It has been a real fiasco but we are handling it.
Vet said it could have been an infection or genetics; and she may lose all of her teeth!? Has anyone had this problem of their cat losing all of its teeth?? TIA

It's not uncommon. Some breeds of dogs and cats are notorious for their bad teeth. I know one cat breeder that wound up pulling all teeth on two of her elderly cats as they kept losing them anyway. On the other hand, once gum disease is cleared up, if you keep up with dentals, she may not lose anymore.
I'm glad to edited: hear (not here  ) that all went well, and now you can both start to feel better :)

My cat Zozo had TERRIBLE teeth. Awful. Terrible. Disgusting. (And they were so bad that the... effluvium from them gave her cat acne all over her chin.)
The vet pulled almost all her teeth except for her fangs. She seems fine with it, and even eats crunchy food (gums it?). And as soon as they were gone, the acne cleared up, too.

One of my cats eventually lost all his teeth except for one fang. Didn't slow him down in the least, and he led a long, happy life. (And like CR's cat, had no problem with crunchy food, either.)
