A week of playing slave labor at my mother's home/business is done. And let me tell you what I had to go through for a glass of water one night. Mom had been so focused on moving her business from home to a larger location that she didn't know she'd forgotten to pay the water until we got home from a long day to no water in the house. At all. So I had to run out to 7-11 for a gallon of water! I was so thirsty I drank half of it that night. I think she'd thought I was just being whiney about being thirsty until she saw just how much I guzzled. Luckily that happened on Wednesday so we could pay the bill Thursday morning. Friday was too busy and the weekend would have sucked!

The moral of the story being that we should truly APPRECIATE the fact that we have such easy access to good drinking water .... AND ..... TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

On a number of trips overseas in years past, I never had trouble finding wonderful foods to eat, but sometimes the water was a challenge and a half. At one place, the only available water had things swimming in it - seen and unseen - so I tried to find some bottled water. For awhile, all that was available close by was distilled, only available in thick quart sized bottles! (I suppose they were selling it for people with contact lenses or for baby formulas!) I paid a fortune for it and created QUITE a pile of bottles before I could make other arrangements!

With GRATITUDE for the BLESSING of potable water, your advice is being taken to heart in this household! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
