My grandma and my mom have always used Kellogg's Croutettes as their stuffing base--it's just herbed bread cubes, essentially. I know, I could just make my own herbed bread cubes, but there is something about this familiar taste. And of course, pepperidge farm and (personally--ick) stove top is not going to work.
For the past few years it has been harder and harder to find locally. I know the packaging changed from cardboard boxes to plastic bags in the past few years, but maybe the product is simply not retailed anymore? The Kelloggs site lists it as if they still make it, so I imagine there must be SOME way to buy it. But, all of the things I would normally do to try to locate it are not panning out.
So, any advice about how I can track down this item?
Has anyone seen it in a grocery chain that is in MI? (Meijer, Walmart are very nearby) But I don't mind ordering it online either, if there are any sources.
Thanks for any help! Tiffani
