Hi all. I will be starting up a Health and Fitness Club with my MOMS Club next week. I have some vague ideas, but thought I'd tap you creative and enthusiastic gals for ideas of what we can do with our club.

Our biggest challenge will be getting in any actual exercise! We do all of our MOMS Club activities with our kids during the day. We do have some possible solutions, including a track at the local school that has a playground in the middle of it.

One of our members brought up doing a weekly or monthly challenge - sort of like we were doing here with weights - and it could include anything (such as drink 8 glasses of water every day). I thought it would be nice to give everyone a tracking/journaling sheet where we could keep track of things like cardio, weight training, calories, fat grams, veggie servings, glasses of water, etc. Does anyone know of a place online that has a good log for this sort of thing?. I know that Oprah had a little booklet that was good for journaling that you could buy at the bookstore, but I'd like to have something I can photocopy for everyone.

I was also thinking of doing a monthly newsletter that could feature a healthy recipe of the month, challenges, tips, etc.

Anyway, any ideas you can come up with would be greatly appreciated. Just keep in mind that we are moms of young kids (babies - 1st grade) who will be present - and we try to do things that are free or very low cost so that we don't exclude any members.

TIA!!!

lindrusso--

I thikn it's Self magazine that does a 3-month challenge every spring and has something similar -- an online journal or a written journal you can send in. There are four categories -- cardio, strength, flexibility, and nutrition. Check out their website at http://www.self.com/challenge/ and see if it's what you're looking for.

Good luck --sounds like a great idea!

CheerLiz - thanks for the link. That is close to what I want, but I guess I want more detail. The weird thing is, when I went to that site, it said I was already registered! I have no recollection!!! Are they linked with another site I may have registered with?????

Oh - now I see - they are linked with Epicurious, that must be it....

I have publisher software, so it would be easy enough to make up my own, but I thought I'd look at some other ideas first.
