Help. I cannot seem to find a teenager or anyone else who is Razor savvy. My friendly neighborhood Verizon store is clueless as they all have other phones.
My questions are these:
1. Most important. Stupid alarm clock won't go off. It will if I set it for 10 min. or so. I almost overslept because the stupid thing didn't go off! It's set for DAILY. I deleted and reset it today.
2. Text Messaging. I used to be able to use my speed dial on old phone and right click to pull up TM. Razor doesn't offer that and each time I have to go into my contact list to send TM. Is there an easier way????
3. TM: Is there any way to change default ABC to ITAPEN? I like that better most of the time...now that i've got it figured out!
They replaced my phone Monday because of battery charging issues so the phone is brand-new. I haven't dropped it either - imagine that!

I have a RAZOR and I HATE IT!!!!! The only thing I can say is I use my alarm clock on my phone everyday (I don't own an actual alarm clock) and it works fine for me. This is my 4th razor. The first 3 all had problems so if I were you I'd take it back and tell them about the problem with the alarm clock.
You either love it or hate it. I have met people on both sides of the fence.

I have a razr so I'll try to answer the questions as best I can.
1. I don't know why you're having trouble getting your alarm to ring. Are you making sure it's not set on 24hr time or pm instead of am? I have no problem so can't figure out why yours is not going off. And how do you set it for daily? I just click the two outside buttons (the right one, then the left) to make it go on the next day. Just clicking the right one puts the alarm on snooze.
2. On my phone the text messaging has an icon, right above the red power or disconnect button. It goes right to TM.
3. When on TM I push the # symbol until I get to the @ symbol on the screen at the top and the NEXT push on the # makes the letters predict what I'm typing. I hope that's what you meant.
I hope this helps.

I have a RAZOR and I HATE IT!!!!!
Me too! Hate it. I don't use the features though that you're asking about, luv2cook, so I apologize that I can't help you with your answers, but I just thought I'd pipe in to say I'm in thoroughly in the HATE camp. Biggest piece of garbage there is.

Just had to throw in my two cents' worth. I had a Razor for 48 hours and I couldn't take it back fast enough! My brother has one and I thought that it would be so cool, but I HATED it. I have an LG 8600 something or other. It's the only phone I had (I cancelled my phone line in the house about a year and a half ago). The razor was not user friendly at all, I was afraid I was going to snap it in half and the buttons suck in my opinon. Sorry I can't help you. I know when I took it back, they asked my if there was anything wrong with in and I said, "Other than the fact that I hate everything about it, no." Good luck with it!
Peace,
Lynn :-)

This was NOT supposed to be a HATE fest on the Razor. I asked some questions that I hoped to get answers to. I'm sorry if I seem pissy, but I don't find most of the comments helpful AT ALL  This was NOT an opinion thread, I was seeking HELP.
Lynn, I got the alarm to work this a.m. I think your phone and mine must be configured differently. My TM is on the other side. BUT I went in and I figured out how to change it from ABC to Itapen. But I am still seeking an easier way to TM since using speed dial and "right clicking" doesn't work with this phone.
I'm not liking having to go into contacts, find the name, right click, TM or picture and then start typing. I was hoping to set it up differently...

I have a razr and actually like it alot...its my second one, I gave my first to my daughter when I got the 2nd. Sounds like you got advice on the alarm clock. I can address making the messaging easy to get to. From the main menu go to Settings then Personalize then Home Screen then Home Keys and from there you can decide what tasks you want to be operated from the right and left "soft" keys on the home screen as well as from the up/down/right/left buttons on the key pad. Mine actually has a little "envelope" icon on the key above the red power key which goes straight to text messaging...but maybe some are different.
Let me know if this is about as clear as mud...and like I tell my husband, if all else fails I guess we can read the instruction book! ;)

I tried that personalization thing - but it was worthless. The Icons I have didn't do the job. It's my understanding that the Razors are configured for whichever provider.
You did give me an idea, tho. I tried speed dial - thought maybe I could get to TM easier that way. Nope. There's GOT to be an easier way.
When I got this phone, when they uploaded my address book, somehow it gave my husband's email an icon on speed dial. When I tried to change it out with TM (which I thought was WAY cool) there was no way to do it. :o
My alarm is now working for some strange reason. I didn't do anything differently. I figured out the ABC thing, too. Sometimes it helps to talk about it and I figured that out. I dont' have a manual. (don't ask) and every time I want to look in it, I have to call my neighbor who has one.

I fixed my mom's phone ring yesterday. There is a way to get into the rings tones (tools I believe). She had her ring tone chosen, but it was set to silent. So we took it off of silent and then she had no problem. We just got razos and are MUCH happier than we were with another Motorolla phone we had (I don't know the ID, but it was a free with contract thing.) My ring would change on that one every time I plugged it in to charge! SO frustrating. Then I would set it to vibrate, and it would ring (I was in class a couple of times.) So we are much happier with this one. I don't use many of the features though. My husband does use the alarm frequently though and likes it.
Hope you get it figured out! We did wait too long to return our other phones, so we had to pay a higher price for these when we got them, so if you are really frustrated watch out for your return window. They are pretty stict when it comes to the returns.
Good luck to you!
Kim

You can adjust the ring tone by hitting the buttons on the left side of the phone. i put mine on silent frequently while at work.
Just open up the phone and hit the 2 sets of buttons closest to the pad on the left SIDE (as in side view). Very easy. Works great and a lot easier than going to Tools...

hmmmmm...well, I don't have many other suggestions, other than I guess go back and make them work with you until its like you want it! One time I "inherited" a phone from a friend and was able to download a manual from the manufacturer's website...so you might try motorola.com. Other than that I'm not sure!!
