Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! Do you all have big plans? I'm going to the ILs this weekend to make the traditional spread for them.

We went on a 6 mile hike on Sunday and now my bum is sore. I've got to make myself workout more often. DH is working nights this week, so I've got no excuses. 2 dvds and 2 jogs or long walks.

Michelle - I hope things are going ok with your parents.

Sorry I've been MIA... I started getting yet another nasty cold a week ago last Friday and am home from work this afternoon. I'm going to the doctor in a little bit - I'm thinking it's a sinus infection. <sigh>. Because of this and trying to get so much done with the house before the IL's come down, I've done absolutely nothing as far as workouts.

Like I said, the IL's are all coming down (9 kids plus 11 or so adults) and are only staying for T-day. Friday, the 3 of us are heading out for my parents cabin and will stay there the rest of the weekend. Hopefully it all goes well.

Hang in there you guys and squeeze in any workouts you can!! Stay healthy and be safe this week!! :)

Carrie, great job on the hike! We're going to my FIL's for Thanksgiving, but I'm making a turkey dinner for just us tomorrow. That way we'll have our own leftovers for sandwiches, the best part!

Hi Emily! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Sinus infections are horrible. I've only had one and was miserable! Hope you are feeling better soon. Good luck with all of your guests and have a great time at the cabin!

No official workouts for me this weekend. Cleaned the house Saturday, does that count? :) Today I did Cathe's Low Impact Circuit. It was OK. The cardio was fun, but there wasn't much leg work at all. It had a few compound moves, which I don't like too much, but it kept my heart rate up. The upper body stuff was good. I'm not sure how much I'll use it, though. But, I did burn close to 500 calories, so that's a good thing!

Nothing Saturday as the hotel's gym was out of comission  But Sunday I did the leg work that the trainer had planed (except for one exercise - astronots - not sure what that is  ) Then I did some core work and finally I went for a 2 mile walk. I really needed it as it was a 'bad' day for Dad. So I didn't get my final stretches in. But I did get stuck watching 3 hours of Gunsmoke - please make it stop. Today is better, so that's good but it's crazy. Going to change and get to my upper body stuff today.

Emily - I hope you feel better soon. And good luck with the t-day festivities.

Carrie - Sounds like fun, t-day with the IL's. Glad to hear that you and DH had a good hike! Good luck sticking with your plan.

Hi guys!

It's been a crazy week - we decided not to go to NYC with my parents to do tgiving with my sister. Bill's work is nuts, my sister only has thursday off - so instead of everyone stressing out in the city we decided to postpone our trip to another time.

So Sunday I went out and bought a turkey - 17 1/2lbs!! I decided if I was going to roast a turkey I might as well go all out! My MIL is coming over but other than that, Bill has to cover the day shift so we'll be eating at dinner time.

I haven't been working out - eating hasn't been great but weight has stayed status quo. I did get my rear end downstairs this am and did BSS4 with Pam. Weights. I'm hoping to use the rest of our vacation to get caught up with some workouts... fingers crossed.

Michelle - have been thinking of you over this week. Gunsmoke huh? Hang in there.

Joanne - so the low impact Cathe wasn't great? Too bad. Enjoy your turkey dinner tonight!

Carrie - a sore butt is good right? Do your IL's usually do thanksgiving or is it just for you guys?

Emily - so sorry you are feeling yucky again. You just can't seem to shake the sinus stuff!!! Hope the IL visit goes well!!

Everyone have a GREAT Thanksgiving!!!!!! :)

((Engineer)), sorry to hear your dad had a bad day. Hang in there. Good job with getting in what exercise you can. It helps with the stress. I did have to laugh about watching Gunsmoke! ;) I remember being tortured as a child when my dad would watch it. Waiting for him to fall asleep so I could change the channel. :D

Charisse, yea, Low Impact Circuit was just OK. Sounds like a bit less hectic Turkey Day for your family.

Our turkey dinner last night was good. Although my kids barely ate anything - they're just not into that type of food, I guess. But DH and I enjoyed it!

Yesterday I did Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Extreme and then this morning I did the legs section of her All Pump Extreme. OMG, I think it was harder than some of Cathe's stuff. We'll see how sore I am tomorrow. My legs were like jello when I was done. I'm going to do the upper body stuff from the DVD tomorrow.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Welcome to mid-week everyone. Well I have been very good about doing my workout every day. Thank goodness that DM has weights and bands and stuff to use. Now if she only had a stability ball and bench I’d be totally set. Anyway we had one good day with DF and ever since it’s been bad. Take it moment by moment and just deal with what you get. It’s hard on all of us but I guess it must really be bad to just be waiting to die and knowing that it’s going to happen soon. At least we know how it will happen he will pass out and then just die – quick and painless. Can’t really ask much more than that. He’s really just scared to be alone and I understand that. Oh well, like I said – moment by moment is the motto.

Since T-day is tomorrow I would ask that you all express your thanks to your loved ones for just being themselves. Life is short and we never know what’s around the next bend.

Take care of yourselves and get out there and sweat off all those thanksgiving fixin’s.

Will do. I'm sorry that your family is going through such a tough time right now, I can't really imagine what it must be like. (((((Michelle and family)))))

So far this week I've only been walking. We did about 4 1/2 miles yesterday, then 2 or 3 this morning (with groceries in hand on the way back). I think I could use a good stretching tonight and maybe some dancing for fun, so I'll crack out those dvds.

Oh yeah, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's weird that here it's just Thursday, but I'm dealing with it. I started preping for our Saturday feast last night and tonight it begins in earnest. I did T-day for the ILs the first year I was here (2000) and they've celebrated ever since. Although, for them it is a grown up dinner holiday, not a family holiday. They even told my SIL and she couldn't bring my niece this year! I quickly corrected that one.

Charisse - It sounds like a good decision to stay home for T-day. Have a great time with your family. And don't forget you promised us that you'd be catching up on workouts this weekend. ;)

Joanne - Someone tougher than Cathe? That's a pretty scary concept. Glad you enjoyed your dinner.

Twas the day after Thanksgiving..... :)

I cleaned bathrooms, dusted, put away my fall decorations and lugged 8 boxes of xmas stuff to the dining room.... THEN I did Cathe's Step Blast. OMG am I out of shape!!! I can already feel my legs - can't wait till tomorrow!

(((Michelle))) - big hugs. I hope your father (and family) can make peace with his decision. I also hope he can be comfortable.

Joanne - You would think the kids would LOVE thanksgiving dinner - turkey, mashed potatoes, corn.... I got the rolled eyes look as I served our traditional apple stuffing and corn pudding - I had to have stove top  for both Jack and Bill - and no one really likes my corn pudding (I LOVE IT) they would prefer "canned corn"... OH well. How are your legs feeling today?

Carrie - Great job on your walks!!! How was dinner at your IL's?

We're going to see Happy Feet today - I started to decorate for xmas this afternoon and Jack is having coniptions :) I have to get a jump start b/c I won't have time next weekend as IL's are coming and then it's the 8th... I admit it is difficult for me too - the sun is shining and it's supposed to be 60 degrees. I could never live in Florida :o

Have a great weekend everyone - thinking of you Michelle.....

I did my dancing last night, no stretching. It was something at least. Today I was in a funk until the Thanksgiving prep began. Tomorrow I'm going to go for a long slow walk after my big dinner to get some fresh air (and space).

Charisse - Dinner with the ILs isn't until tomorrow. We get to go on the train with the dog. I'm super excited. The dog, on the other hand, would be petrified if he know what was coming. He's such a big chicken. Oh well, if he can survive a trans-atlantic flight he can survive an hour on a train.

Michelle - Are you hanging in there?
