Looks good - but then, all the HP movies have been :) . I'm not sure which I'm looking forward to more, the movie or the 7th book...

I keep finding it interesting watching the kids grow up. By the time they get to movie #7, they'll probably be in their 20s!

I was thinking about that. I want them to keep the same cast--I can forgive them for having a 20-yr-old Harry Potter! Hey, if Kevin Spacey can play a 20-something Bobby Darin, Dan Radcliff can play HP! ;)

Nothing official. The rumors are holding out for summer '07, specifically 7/7/07.

Thanks Lisa. While I'm sorry to see the series end I'm very anxious to read the next book! Once I've finished the last one I'm going to read the British version from the start.

Do you really think they'd release book 7 on July 7th and then the movie a week later? I suppose they could, but it doesn't seem realistic to me. It seems they'd want marketing and hype for each to be separate and as big as they could to get the most out of each thing. My guess (and this is based on nothing whatsoever, just what I think) is they'll save the book release for Christmas time next year.

I too have mixed feelings - I can't WAIT for the book, but I am going to cry that the series will be over. :(

At least there will be a couple more movies left even after the last book is done.

I'm like you, Schmee - I keep rereading them, and I love to re-read the book right before I go see the movie. So I'll be reading Order of the Phoenix again end of June! :D

DS#1 tells me that Emma Watson will not be in Order of the Phoenix, seems she's afraid of type-casting! Also that Dobby, the house-elf, will not be in the movie either...something about the studio execs not liking the character and excuses about keeping the film under 4 hours...shame.

BTA: I just checked out the Warner Bros site and it seems that Emma is in Order of the Phoenix so I'll have to speak to DS#1 about his bad info! Sorry! :o

I think your son is referring to the next movie (#6). I had heard those rumors too, but I don't think it's a for sure yet that she won't do it.

I heard the same rumors. I really hope it's not true, the movies just won't be the same with a different Hermione. She is definitely in Order of the Phoenix though, assume the rumors are for Half Blood Prince.

I think you're right about the book, doesn't make sense that they would release the move and book a week apart the way they market HP...I would imagine next Christmas is the soonest we'll see book 7.

I read that she's worried about being typecast in the future. Oh brother. :rolleyes: I've got some news for her - if that's going to happen, it already has. And I have to say, if she does quit, I will be so upset I won't want to see her in anything else. She'll have to find some new fans, I think. I think it's very "bratty" (for lack of a better word) to quit now. Others may disagree, but that's what I think. No one else is quitting. She's not THAT great, for heaven's sake.

Just looked at JKRowlings official site and as of Oct she still hasn't decided on a title and it still writing...it must be even more difficult since she wrote the ending years ago!

Possibly, but as a fellow writer I can see what an ENORMOUS task she is up against...and she has nothing but respect from me. :)
