I'm happy to be making the switch from Sam's to the brand new Costco right near work. I'll make up the difference in membership price shopping at lunchtime and having those free samples alone!
I recall past posts about some of their name brand products, but would like opinions on their store brand stuff - quality and price versus the comparable. Don't have kids or pets, so mostly buy food, household goods, and health/beauty aids.
Thanks!

A lot of Costco's brand items are actually name brand items with Kirkland's name attached to it. I think Newman's Own grape juice has the Kirkland name attached to it. The whirlpool fridge, washer & dryer we have also has the Kirkland name. And, the Starbucks coffee I just bought has the Kirkland name on it. DH once read that Kirkland's laundry detergent was rated very high (if not #1) in consumer reports (that was some time ago, so I'm not sure if that still rings true). I use the odor/dye free laundry detergent and think it works well. I also use the fabric softener liquid. I like the smell and think it works well.
The clothes I've seen seem to be of high quality as well. I don't know if I've bought any of them, though. DH bought a pair of slippers that he really likes.

Costco has an excellent return policy. If you don't like it, return it for a refund. I saw someone return a 1/2 eaten cake before. That was a little too much, IMHO.

I am a HUGE Costco fan and have bought a lot of Kirkland brand items, lanudry detergent, softener, dishwasher liquid, water, trail mix, dog food, (canned & dry) cereals, dairy items just to name a few.

I am a Huge Kirkland Signature fan. If they have the item I am looking for and it is available in Kirkland I always buy it. I've never been disappointed, and if you don't like it they have a fabulous return policy.
Thinks I buy that are Kirkland Brand
kitchen trash bags (great and Sooo much cheaper!)
diapers
baby wipes
face cream
dishwasher deterg
paper towels
laundry deterg
Clorox-clean up type wipes
I'm sure there are many more items that I haven't listed!

Are they really HEAVY, I am looking for a good quality but not wrist breaking pots and pans. Also are they non stick?
Thanks!

I have this set, too. They are not nonstick, but the stainless rarely presents a significant sticking problem. They are heavy. I'd lift a few at the store and imagine them full of food to decide whether or not they'll work for you. If you're looking for lightweight stainless, you might try Revere Ware. I don't like lifting the heavy stuff, but I like the way it cooks!

They are not nonstick, so I have some other pans that I use when I need NS. They are pretty heavy, so I'd pick them up when you're in the warehouse to check it out for yourself.

Clorox-clean up type wipes
Very interesting - I thought these were awful. They were much thinner than the Clorox brand wipes, I couldn't stand the smell, and when I got to almost the end of the container, it tipped over and a rather large amount of liquid spilled out. I've never seen that with the Clorox wipes.
I did a cost comparison on the two brands and found the Clorox brand was a better deal. The Kirkland container is bigger, but it doesn't add up, so to speak. :)
I love their laundry soap, fabric softener and dishwasher detergent.

I saw a chunk of roast beef come back.

Their toilet paper is excellent, lots on each roll so you don't feel like you're changing the roll every half an hour.
I just stocked up on baking stuff there, brown sugar, icing sugar, white sugar, vanilla.

I like Kirkland Coffee.
We also use paper towels, dishwasher soap, multi-vitamins, among others...

I have the pans too, which I bought a few years ago at Suzy's suggestion. Because I am owned by a bird and nonstick surfaces give off fumes that can kill them, I have to have stainless. Yes, they are a bit heavy, but they have been a great investment.
I haven't used their Kirkland products in awhile, mainly because I am crunched for space. I do like to buy butter there during the holidays for baking and the large bags of nuts.

I buy lots of things with the Kirkland Brand. I do like their wipes, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper. For food the balsamic, small batch olive oil, thin crackers with parmesan and herbs (by the breads) the roasted garlic bread, bagels, roasted chicken.
That's all I can think of now, but I'm sure I'll run into more things. We usually only go about once a month.
