I noticed there were several previous posts with folks indicating they were doing the body for life program.
I am wondering how you are doing, if you have stuck with it, and what you are doing on the nutritional side of the program.
I did the program over a year ago, and need to get re-inspired to workout more regularly. I had good results, but the eating part was difficult for me, as I am not a huge meat eater.
Any updates?

Browneye -

DH and I are in week 17! We love the program - esp the exercise part. In 17 weeks we have only missed 2 workouts and it has been great to have such structure for us. Instead of going to the gym and debating what we "feel like" doing, there is no question - today is upper body. We went from very sporatic exercising for five years to religious about it.

If you are looking for motivation...just this week I took my measurements again and am now up to 3 inches off each thigh(WOW!) and still at 3 inches off my waist. For me the inches came off my waist in the first couple months and then there was not a lot of progress for awhile so I stopped measuring but I guess the program was still working - just eating at a different area. I hoping upper arms are next! Measuring has been a good motivator for me because I have only lost about 5 pounds since week 3 (couldn't bear to weigh myself at the starting point but I am sure I only lost another 5 pounds before that). Did do the "before" pic though and that was motivating. Haven't taken any "after" pics yet though. DH has done great too. We love our new bods with muscles!

As for the hard part - eating. We try to balance carbs and proteins and keep portions reasonable. I make a lot of CL recipes but stay away from the desserts unless it is free day. I still cook with olive oil and drink cream in my coffee so our fat is higher than the book recommends. We have still been happy with the results, but I think it takes longer. My bro has been very serious about it with all the protein shakes and lost 30lbs much quicker. We try to eat smaller more frequent meals, but DH is a dentist so he can't be munching all day and really only eats the main three meals a day. We occaisonally have Balance Bars or Fuel Plex shakes for a meal but try to stick to "real" foods. We are very conscious of the health risks of high protein diets and eat plenty of carbs, fruits, and veggies.

This is probably way more than you wanted to hear, but we love the program!

Here's a quick list of what we eat a lot:
fish (salmon, sole, etc.), chicken breasts, pork tenderloin, lamb, cottage cheese with a piece of fruit, egg beater/eggs, spinach, sweet potatos, whole wheat pastas, whole grain breads, brown and white rice, tuna, sweet potatos, salads, peanut butter, & lots of soy milk.

Hope this provides inspiration for you!
