DW and I went to Las Vegas for a couple days. She for some training and me just along for the ride and to see my sister who lives there.
DW's training was in the MGM Grand where Tom Collichio has 2 restaurants, Craftsteak and 'wichcraft.
Well, I really wanted to try Craftsteak, but with blowing our dining out budget at The French Laundry this year, I went with 'wichcraft instead. LOL. Craftsteak is really expensive and everything is A la Carte. Yikes.
$52 for a steak, $10 for a side of carrots, you get the picture. So, 'wichcraft it was.
It's a sandwich place. You can eat there or get your food to go. They have cold and hot sandwiches, salads, soups, bags of chips, a soda machine, bottled sodas (Boylan), beer, wine, desserts too. So, the first day, I got a sandwich, chips and a soda. The sandwich was a roasted pork, coppa, pepper relish and fontina cheese on country bread panini. Very tasty. I don't know why but I expected the relish to be sweet, but it was like a dill (sour) relish. Price was $9.00. Chips were $2.00 and soda was $3.00. These are pretty average prices for "fast" food in a casino hotel. DW had lunch provided with her training so she didn't get a sandwich that day. Next day, when her class was over and we were getting ready to go to the airport, we went back and she tried a roasted turkey, avocado, bacon and balsamic onion on a roll sandwich. She said it was good, but was a bit heavy on the mayonaise. She doesn't care for a lot of mayo, and so that was more a personal preference than that the sandwich was bad. I had a meatloaf, cheddar, bacon and tomato relish on a roll sandwich. Very tasty, but the cheddar could have been sharper, it was a bit overwhelmed by the other ingredients. Again, personal preference, but the meatloaf was really good. Both were hot sandwiches and in the $9.00 range. Very filling too.
That's about all the eating out we did there as my sister made us dinner the one evening we were there with her. :D
