Did it reset your home page to something else?

yest it did and now I cannot change back to my original home page.
I have tried to clean out with
Mc Virus scan and it does not detect it
I also did spy-bot and that does not work either and I also did Windows Defender and nothing works. I am really p.......at myself for doing this going to a site I really had little interest in. That will sure teach me a very good lesson.

It's not technically a virus but a browser hijack. Have you tried to go to a previous restore point on your computer?

No I have not, I am a little bit weary about doing this. Maybe you could pm with your email adress so as not to take up too much of the board or if this is ok it is ok by me too.

I'm just wondering....why did you click on it to begin with? Wasn't it obvious that it was going to do something not pleasant to your computer as that title of the thread was "Angelina Jolies Lesbian Love"?

The person probably knew that the link wasn't a legitimate link to anything related to cooking but didn't expect it to be a browser hijack.
Sometimes I click on stupid, eye catching, links like this: BUSH LEGAL TEAM SUES SANTA CLAUS (http://www.netfunny.com/rhf/jokes/00/Dec/lawsuit.html)

Still, based on the title of the thread, I just don't see how anyone could think that nothing would happen.
I would never click on a link like you mention, Gumbeaux, because I know it's just not a good idea.

I never thought someone on this forum would send us a link that would be trouble. Believe me I have learned my lesson well.

I wouldn't worry about it as we have all been there and done that. Don't beat yourself up or let anyone else beat you up. The important thing is that you learned an important lesson at a time when there was someone who could help you! The internet is just so full of jerks who do all kinds of things, like browser hijacking and worse, for what reason.....WHO KNOWS?
Just be careful out there! :D
