I had to post that, since Julie covered all the other bases!

I've got some of the worst posture ever. I've been trying to make a conscious effort lately to work on that, so I thought others might like a reminder as well. Now, everytime I refresh the page and see the "no slumping" topic, hopefully I'll be reminded to sit up!

I've just searched and can't for the life of me find the reference, but here is a posture/abs suggestion that I picked up in a magazine over the last couple of months, maybe even from CL. I'm sure I clipped it, but ... alas ...

It basically goes like this:
Sit in a chair with feet on the floor, slumped over a little. Tie a string around your waist so that it is a little tight. Wear it around and every time you start to slouch, the string will get tight and 'remind' you to sit up. They recommended starting with a short time to begin with and adding time.

I haven't tried it, but sure sounds like it would work. If anyone else saw this, please give credit where credit is due.

What? I don't get it.

Mbart, the picture really helped this one! You tie the string under your clothes and since the gut spreads when you slouch, you feel the string pull tighter and it reminds you to sit up straight and pull that gut in! I did try it and it worked!

Thanks for the reminder. I work from home and have the worst posture. I need to go out and purchase a much more supportive chair. I'm not sure that would help since I'm often found working on the computer with my feet up on the desk or a cat in my lap. I guess I need to get more displined.

Thank you, I get it now. Just a little slow here! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
