calling all bunion sufferers

Has anyone had bunion surgery (also known as Metatarsal osteotomy)? I have to have it and am a little nervous.

I visited a friend of mine on Thursday night who had this surgery back in September. Her bunion was terrible, a wedge-shaped section of bone had to be removed. Naturally, she had to take it easy for awhile after the surgery but within weeks was walking. She's walking around just great - she used to favor that foot but now walks normally.

Wish I had more details for you - just letting you know that she had that surgery and is now doing very well. You will too! :D

MIL had it a long time ago, along with other foot problems too numerous to mention. Her Dr (podiatrist, not orthopedic surgeorn) was a quack, and she has never walked well. :(

BIL just had it last year, and he is doing very well! I think, as with all surgeries, you have to talk to people who have gone to this doctor, and had similar surgeries. I'll be facing this is a couple of years, probably. Good luck! :)
