Help! I have tried cheap and expensive brands of conditioners because my hair tangles easily but they all make my hair heavier and greasy!! I have shoulder length fine hair. Any advice?

I use Redken Headstrong Light Tamer. I have thick, but fine hair, and it tends to be very oily, so I have to be careful. I've tried all inexpensive and expensive brands, but this works for me. I only use it every 3-4 days though, so as to not weigh it down too much, which heavy conditioning does to my hair.
I do have to wash my hair every day, though; on the non-conditioning days, I use Infusium Leave-In Treatment. It's water-based, but it does what I need it to do - gets the tangles out, and leaves my hair very light and not weighed down. You can find this in most drug stores; I believe Target and Wal-Mart carry it also.
Hope this helps.

Oh have I got the answer for you! I have the same problem, and I thought I'd never, ever find the right product. And I did, by accident! I got a sample once, a long time ago of something I'd never heard of, and I only used it a few weeks ago when I was COMPLETELY out of conditioner, and was scrounging through the linen closet in search of ANYHTHING! Well, I was WOWED by this product - it's made by ABBA, and it's called TruMint Light Daily Conditioner. You can get it at Ulta stores, not at Walgreens or anything. It's kind of expensive ($8, I think??), but I ran out and bought the last two bottles they had at my local Ulta store. It is the BEST!!!! The first paragraph on the back of the bottle reads:
"Detangles, conditions and controls static. Pure and natural conditioners leave hair replenished and tangle-free, without the added weight."
And every word is true (at least on my hair!)
Good luck finding something you love.

I love Biolage Detangling Solution by Matrix. I have thick hair, so heavy products tend to weigh it down, but I've had no problems using this everyday. Sometimes, for heavier conditioning, I'll even use a conditioner before using the detangler.
There's another thread from a month or two back about shampoos/conditioners, and the general consensus was to change products frequently, like at the end of each bottle, for best results. Neutrogena products are great for those in-between times, to rid your hair of any residual build-up from your regular products.

I have lots of fine, curly hair and I second the Biolage Detangling Solution that aggie94 mentioned. Works great!
I'll add another suggestion - Joico Integrity - it's a spray on/leave in (after towel drying). My hair is very fine and this doesn't weigh it down. Good luck!
