so we got our wii today, and we're loving the sports bundle! anyone else have this and have any opinions so far? we're waiting to hear back from our friends to put them on our buddy list. from what i understand, you can leave messages for each other, and in the next few months, you're going to be able to play against other people from home. if any of you guys are on it, we can share numbers so we can play together one day. sounds like fun to me!

the fitness tests and stuff are great too - what a way to get you active at night when you feel like sitting around playing some video games.

my only gripe so far is that no stores have extra controllers. we got store credit at EB Games for selling back our gamecube and a few games, but they're all out. we have an extra nunchuck, but until more controllers come in, we have to take turns or play the ones where you can share one controller.

right now, DF is boxing, and it's funny - he was making fun of me a while ago for how into it i got, but now he's doing the happy dance for beating an opponent. heheh....

i suppose i need to invest in rechargeable batteries now!! :D

I think I created a monster by asking DH if he wanted one as a result of that other thread. He didn't know too much about it at the time and now seems to be able to recite every factoid about it so methinks he wants one. He loved that it was retro-compatible and I just noticed he had his GameCube dusted off and in use.

DF apparently stood in line at the toys r us in times square before work to get one, because they apparently got the biggest shipment. so i get a call at work saying, "guess what..." and i knew what was going on. we're such dorks. hahaha!!

everyone is saying that there's not going to be a shortage by christmas, but who knows. i'd say your best bet is to call somewhere and ask when they're getting a shipment. i tried that at target last weekend, but by the time i woke up (which is by no means early), they were already sold out.

the wedding plans are coming along slowly but surely. i just designed some save the date magnets and sent them out to get printed. i figure that makes more sense than paper ones. and we filed forms for passports on saturday, which was crazy! neither of us have ever had one!

the only thing that could be better would be a new season of project runway starting early - top chef is good, but not doin' the same thing for me.

You are so lucky! Here I have called EVERY store, from Best Buy to Toys R Us, to Game Stop, to EB Games adn every store in between, no one has them. I was told by a few stores they will not be getting them, and by Toys R Us to call every day after 1 PM to see if they have them in that days shipment. I'm hoping to get one, its the big gift for the family this year. :p

I got one for DS#3 and ordered it online...it came last week! Even online has a shortage of extra controllers though! :(

DF was telling me all last week that toys r us had BINS full of controllers, but he kept telling himself that he was going to wait until we got the system to get any. so of course, now there are none. :rolleyes:

Thanks for the update! Magnets are a great idea as I have a Save the Date postcard of my cousin's vying with many other things on my fridge for the few magnets I have.

I'm with you on the Runway thing! If only because I miss sending folks over to your house for virtual mojitos and dancing off the ceiling fan...

I live literally 2 min from walmart so I'm going to stalk it out at 8 AM and see what happens!! I will grab an extra controller if I see it!!
