I'm searching for an all-around women's health "bible" to add to my library. I want something that I can refer to whenever I have a question, about anything, really, relating to my body/health. I'm always so impressed by how well-informed the users of this board are, so I've got to ask: Which women's health book(s) do you own, or do you wish you owned?

Thanks!
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I own a copy of "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom", by Dr. Christiane Northrup, and it truly is a women's health "bible"! According to the back cover: "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom is contemporary medicine at its best, combining new technologies with natural remedies and the miraculous healing powers within the body itself." Also, I'm a psychiatric nurse, and I was looking for a book that wasn't written for someone in the medical profession...I didn't want another "textbook". This book is written for women of any profession...interesting, easy to understand, yet filled with lots of knowledge and heartwarming stories so each person can relate in their own, personal way!
It's a MUST for your bookshelf!

I have "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" as well and am very impressed. My old standby, however, is "Our Bodies, Ourselves"- my edition (I believe there's a new one) is a little dated, but it got me through many crises with good information. Enjoy browsing!
