How's everyone doing? This was my PMS week and all I did was eat carbos and lounge on the couch. I made a couple of half hearted yoga attempts but I just wasn't into it, couldn't focus on the breathing and even stretching seemed too much effort. I blamed it totally on the carbos as all that refined sugar drains me. However today I felt motivated so I did a long yoga routine and it felt wonderful. I also bought 2 more yoga videos from Amazon. I find myself getting bored so quickly doing the same ones over again. I can't wait to start taking classes!

Incidentally I started doing the Denise Austin pilates/yoga video that was recommended on this board. The first time I tried it I thought it too easy but after listening to everyone tell me how hard it was I tried it again and they were right. My abs are killing me! I love it! Although her voice and manner drive me nuts!

Leslie-

Glad you gave the tape another go. DA is a bit breathy sounding (sounds like she's trying to be Marilyn Monroe or something!) for me, but I do like the way the workouts are structured, so I keep with it.

I began my Intro to Hatha Yoga II class Wednesday. The instructor just wanted to see what our ability levels were so he could structure the class to our needs, so we just did a really basic series of poses. Still, after almost 3 weeks off (it's been a pretty low point for me, exercise-wise), it felt really good to be working the poses again.

I plan on doing some of the weight lifting exercises from this month's CL & then doing a 20 minutes Hatha/20 minutes Denise Austin Pilates/20 minutes Hatha/sivasana cool-down today after hitting the farmer's market. I figure if I can do that routine 2-3 times a week apart from my class, I should continue making progress in my asanas. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
