Okay, so in the context of things it's not much to complain about, but this yucky weather just has me out of sorts ~ I just can't help it!

It's been cloudy, rainy or drizzly, and reaching highs only in the 50's (some days BARELY 50). This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I've been feeling fairly blue lately and I really think it's the weather.

There's something about having gorgeous weather, planting veggies and flowers and then getting thrown into this fall-like weather pattern. Feels like Oct/Nov, not June! And they seem to be forcasting more of the same for this coming week. Even the poor flowers and plants aren't liking it much (the rain, yes, but not the cool temps. Sigh....

We are having the same unseasonal weather here and I have been spending a lot of time with my nose pressed up to the window, staring longingly at my sodden garden.
Today I am doing some baking and the house is filled with the smell of banana, rhubarb, and strawberries. Usually I do this when I want to chase away the chill of winter though, so it does feel strange. It makes me feel so cozy to take breaks from cooking or whatever and check the board to find there are others doing/feeling the same as I am. Ahhh addiction...

Kim,

As a matter of fact, as I complain about our weather, I have been reminding myself that it was usually in the 100's by this time in Texas! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif

But, there must be a happy middle somewhere that we can all enjoy!!!

some of the best air for you as I experience my first bout with allergies EVER!

I was telling DH today its not fair to be this hot when the winter is chilly and dreary...not as much as IN, mind you, but at least in FLA they dont have a chilly winter!

I'll take your rain! We are actually in a drought right now. It rained on Friday for the first time in about two months, but it wasn't nearly enough. Our vegetable garden is history, everything is brown and forest fires are rampant.

It is true that weather affects your mood. I've been really worried about our lack of rain. Up until Friday morning I had been keeping the top down on my car all the time. Sort of my own private rain dance. Might have to try that again.

BTW, Kim, we had one or two hard freezes this past winter in Tampa, and had to pull our winter jackets out of storage. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

You can all come to Colorado Springs, it has been in the 70's to 80's with afternoon storms to clear the air and according to RW, we have some of the best air in the States!

lindrusso...
I know what you are feeling! MN isn't exactly known for nice weather. When we have a dreary spell it can really get me down. Then when the weather gets nicer I feel so much better. Hope you get some sun soon! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Well, there was a glimmer of hope this morning - woke up and it was sunny. But the clouds are back...

I do like these kinds of days, but it's been like this since about May 20 (with one or two nice days here and there)!!!

I was with another mom today who is feeling the same way - we're going out to dinner tonight with a group of moms, so that should help our spirits!
