U2 Concert - Wow!

My DH and I went to the U2 concert last night at the Aloha Stadium. What a fantastic concert - the last of their Vertigo tour. I could not believe how great they sounded live, obviously they don't need any "help" in the studio :D . They played for about 2 1/2 hours and Pearl Jam opened for them. Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day also appeared to sing "The Saints Are Coming". Bono actually thanked us at the beginning and the end of the concert saying "Thank you for waiting" as they had cancelled their April concert here. I was actually thinking, no thank you, because you didn't cancel, you just postponed, and for a very, very good reason. Plenty of other bands would have just not bothered to come back since Hawaii is so small (yes I am talking about you, Rolling Stones :mad: ). Anyway, I just had to say that I have always been a fan, but I am an even bigger one now.

Kyra was also in the audience and had a great time with her DH and friends who came over for the concert. We are planning to have dinner tomorrow evening so I will take my camera and post a picture.

I am SO jealous! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the concert. I saw U2 a couple of years ago live in Vienna and once in Munich.

I love U2 and met them last year at the Restaurant where DH works :cool:

Jealous!!! I saw U2 and long time ago and they were great! I wouldn't mind seeing Pearl Jam either!

Oh that concert sounds like it was great.
About maybe 17 years ago, I was blown away just by seeing them in their concert movie (I think called Rattle& Hum.) So I can only imagine them live.

Just dropping in to say hi, and we got home from Hawaii today. The concert was amazing, but meeting Gecko and her DH was fabulous as well! A big thanks for dinner and your help with planning and directions. I'm sure Felice will post the picture when she gets a chance.

Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality. Our entire trip was great, and everyone we met was friendly, but I know who the NICEST people on Oahu are!
