I need ideas for good outdoor toys for a rambuntious 3 year old. His mom suggested something that would be good for outdoor play, so I am hoping to get some creative ideas here. He mentioned a pogo stick, but his mom doesn't think he is quite ready for one. Thanks!

How about a hop ball? My 3 year old nephew has one that he really likes.

How about a big wheel or a scooter? My kids love their scooters- they have 3 wheels on them and cost about $20 at Toys R Us. Or...we also have a bubble machine- they love to chase the bubbles and pop them. Or a ton of sidewalk chalk for drawing outside.

I got my niece and nephews those plasma (or wiggle) cars for Christmas. Their Mom said that they tried them at a Kids Fest and absolutely loved them (ages 2, 4 and 5). Here (http://www.aesopsroom.com/html/productdetailVB.asp?SKU=5441) is a link to a picture and description.

I like the hop ball idea. My son (who is almost 3) also really likes anything he can ride on. And baseball-- big soft ball and bat. When no one is around to pitch it to him he treats it like hockey. Or a play golf set. Or little basketball set-- that is another fave.

Thank you for these great ideas. I am really clueless about gifts, especially for this age range and really appreciate your suggestions.

I ordered my 3 and 4 year old nephews something called "Stomp Rockets"

They're foam rockets that you launch into the air by...well..stomping. It looks like they'll go really high too. I'm excited.

My boys LOVE these things! They do go really high - we have had some get stuck on our roof.
