I wasn't too shocked to see Yul win. Kinda felt bad for Becky for not getting one vote but wouldn't that have been neat to have the final outcome be a tie-breaker?
I wonder what they'd do for a tie-breaker on a live show?

I don't know what they would have done....but that tie breaker between Sundra and Becky was just downright embarassing. I am a little sad that Ozzie didn't win just because he was a really strong competitor.

Waaahhhhh!!!! I was so rooting for Ozzie! If he had to lose, I'm just glad it was to Yul who also played a great game and seems like a genuinely nice guy. So do you guys think they let 3 people go to the finals to ensure Yul and Ozzie would be there at the end? I do.

I missed it!!!!! Rats. I didn't even know it was on. I hate when they change the days of things. I can't believe they do it for a finale.

Yeah, I was rooting for Ozzy too, but at least he won the car! And 100,000 for second place really isn't that bad. I felt bad for Becky, sort of. It was almost an uncomfortable feel-bad. She didn't deserve to be in the final seat, imo. And I do think that they changed it up to a final three to ensure that both Ozzy and Yul would be there. I was on the edge of my seat during the last immunity challenge, just willing Ozzy to stay on that perch!
This was a fantastic season of Survivor, and I can be happy with the outcome regardless. They really did a good job changing up the season enough to make it entertaining.

Of the last 3, Becky deserved to be there the least. While she didn't anger anyone, she also didn't do much except ride Yul's coattails. For me, it was a tossup as to who should win, but I'm happy for Yul... he's the kind of person I would like as a friend. Hopefully, Ozzie will take his winnings and go back to school, as he would have with the million. He is too smart and able, and can do whatever he sets his mind to... except win $1 Million! :p

I would have been happy to see either Yul or Ozzy win and would have been unhappy with whichever one lost :D
I do believe that in terms of the final twist of a threesome in the final (also the time they voted out 2 people at tribal) , those things are mapped out before the season ever begins filming and they pretty much have to stick to the script in those things. People are playing for a million dollars so there have to be rules and proof, I would imagine, that the game is not "rigged".

I don't agree. I think they make up the challenges as they go along, and have meetings all the time to decide what to do next, depending on how the game is going. I don't think they have pre-determined winners, but I do think they mess with the game as they go along... jmo;)

I agree and disagree about changing up the game. I do think that they analyze how the game is progressing and adapt the game as they see fit to make for "good tv". However, I don't think they altered the last challenge to make sure that Ozzy and Yul made it in, UNLESS they made this change very far in advance. The decision to have 3 in the finals had to have been made when they had the 1st member of the jury be one person earlier than normal. Remember they always have 9 in the final jury, but we thought they 'added' an additional member for 10 members, but in reality they were going to have 9 members all along since they planned on having a final 3 instead of 2. Make sense?? Since 10 jury members and 2 finalists could have easily resulted in a tie, especially in this season.
But I don't think they thought that with 3 finalists they could have had a tie in the end...I am really curious what they would have done if that had happened....

I was rooting for Ozzy! I guess I'm ok with Yul winning as he did seem like a nice guy, but Ozzy was such a worker and seemed to adapt to the environment so much better than the rest. Did anybody think that he looked SO much different in the final in Ca? I'm not sure that I would have recognized him.... think I liked the 'furry version' better and looked like he had been hitting the 'twinkies' quite a bit since returning:D

Lol! He soooo needs to grow that facial hair back... he kind of had a Jack Sparrow look going before, much better than the doughboy look. :p

A family friend was a production assistant for Survivor for every season up to but not including this one. His job was to lead the advance team who gets the location set up- scouting out sites for the camps, but also creating a virtual city of trailers etc. for the production crew and making sure they have everything they need on site, including the stuff for the challenges and rewards. The challenges are planned well in advance because everything has to be shipped to the site and ready to use (the "sets" for challenges and tribal council, for example, some of which take days to set up). The players even get to "rehearse" some of the challenges so that they understand how the game works before it's filmed, and often they're told not to go to certain places on the island for a day or two b/c a challenge is being set up. So, I don't think the producers can change things like that up on very short notice, but things like when to have a merge or a mutiny, or the decision to have 3 people in the final, can probably be made on the fly.

I think he looks like Orlando Bloom! That's before he started hitting the Twinkies though. Now Yul....oh, he's so cute. I wouldn't mind having him...for a friend, right, of course.

I was thinking that he looked like Gavin Rosdale (AKA - Gwen Stefani's husband). Seriously yummy!

My DH & I were laughing so hard at the tie breaker between Sundra and Becky - and the shots of the yawns from the jurors added to our laughs.
I would have been happy if either Yul or Ozzie won - they both had strong points and were good contestants.
