I did a search & found 1 that didn't thrill me (it had everything melted together & then broken apart). I'd like to clone a less salty version of the Harry & David version for a friend. If anyone is familiar w/ this treat-- how do these ingredients look?

Cracker Jack or Crunch & Munch for the popcorn (which would be better?)
fresh roasted, unsalted peanuts (I have these already)
low salt other nuts (if I can find any) or (un)shelled other nuts (which I have)
milk chocolate chips &/or semi-sweet &/or dark chocolate chips (I have)
broken up Heath or Skor candy bars (would the heath chips be too small?)

Anything else? Opinions?

I just finished some that came in a gift box a few days ago...I'm pretty sure there are mini marshmellows in there too.

There's a website I once used, it's www.copykat.com, that might have what you're looking for. I haven't looked at the website in ages, but I always found clone recipes there.

I could eat at least a gallon of Moose Munch in one sitting.

I cut this recipe out of the Calgary Herald. It is an ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen recipe (yes, our gas company has a test kitchen). It looks like a copy of Moose Munch. I have not tried it yet. Let me know if you do!

Caribou Crunch

8 cups butter toffee popcorn with peanuts
1 cup salted roasted cashews
1 cup natural almonds
2 butter toffee chocolate bars (39 g each), crushed
3 cups dark chocolate-flavoured dipping wafers, melted

Combine toffee popcorn, cashews, almonds and crushed chocolate bars in a large roasting pan. Pour melted dipping wafers over popcorn mixture. Stir gently until mixture is even coated. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until coating hardens. Break crunch into pieces. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to one week or freeze for up to six weeks. Makes 12 cups.

The ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen used Crunch 'n Munch Buttery Toffee Popcorn with Peanuts and Skor chocolate bars in this recipe.

This is the recipe I use. It is so yummy. I have a double batch waiting for the kids to arrive this weekend! The real moose munch doesn't have enough nuts for me. :) Darla

dgeevanson & Hoodone: Thank you so much for posting these & your comments!! This looks more like what I was trying to create. I plan to combine the 2 recipes somewhat. A least I was on the right track!

Thanks!
