Hi all - I'm having a Christmas Eve party at my house and I'm working on creating some playlists on my iPod. I think this will be a great way to do party music.
However, I've been through all my CD's and still would like some upbeat Christmas music to add to what I've got. Something lively, you know? I love jazz (have the whole Vince Guaraldi Peanuts CD) and rock, but I've also found some fun big band and chorus stuff that is fun.
What are your favorites? I'd like to get some downloads tonight, so also let me know where you like to download from.

Blink 182 - I Won't Be Home for Christmas
Bruce Springsteen - Merry Christmas Baby
Ella Fitzgerald - Baby It's Cold Outside
Faith Hill - Where Are You Christmas?
John Mellencamp - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
Louis Armstrong - Christmas Night in Harlem
Louis Armstrong - 'Zat You, Santa Claus?
Michael Buble - Grown Up Christmas List
Natalie Merchant - Children Go Where I Send Thee
Norah Jones - Peace
Paul Young - What Christmas Means to Me
Run DMC - Christmas in Hollis
Beach Boys - Little Saint Nick
Stevie Wonder - Someday at Christmas
Sting - I Saw Three Ships
Drifters - White Christmas
Tom Petty - Christmas All Over Again
U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Wham - Last Christmas
Vienna Boys Choir - Little Drummer Boy

Great list MightyH! Exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I have the Beach Boys one, but none of the others. Well, I have Dean Martin doing "Baby It's Cold Outside" which is a good rendition too. I've got Ella doing 'Sleigh Ride' though, and it's awesome - what a voice!
I went to look at iTunes and I guess it wants me to upgrade to iTunes 7, so I'll have to do that tonight to.
jmarie, thanks for the help!

A friend let me borrow this to rip to my Ipod and I really enjoyed it. Baby it's cold outside with Natalie Cole is especially cute.

I'm also enjoying Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong, it's a little moody, but pretty.

Great site! I'm a little lost though - I can see how to play the songs, but don't quite get how to download - can you help?

Sure Goldie,
You go to the Play Music icon, right-click it and select "Save Target As" then save it in your My Music folder or somewhere else you know where you can locate it. I think iPods just play .mp3 music files so I am not sure if there is a way you have to convert the ones that are .wav or a different format. If not, you will be limited to just the .mp3 ones, but the site allows you to filter so that only the .mp3's are listed. To do that go to the "Audio Files" link and in the dropdown list for file format, select MP3.
Good luck & have fun at your party!
