I've recently relocated to the Los Angeles area from the East Coast and am looking for ways to connect with other woman/couples. I absolutely love food - eating it, prepping it, talking about it, reading about it. I love trying new recipes and new foods. So, logically, I thought that a Supper Club might be a great way to meet people while enjoying food.
I'd like to get together a group of women in their mid 20s to mid 30s. Or, perhaps, if any of you have spouses/significant others that are interested, we could make it a couples group. (I'm not sure how much mine would actually cook, but he loves to eat!)
I looked a few months ago for supper clubs in our area and wasn't able to find any. I love trying new ethnic or gourmet recipes on the weekends. I'm looking to meet new people and either a woman's group or a couples group would work for me. (Although similarly, boyfriend may do more eating than cooking )
What brings you to LA?
Thanks for your reply! You're the first response I've received.
I moved to LA because my boyfriend is, and has been, persuing an acting career. I was able to continue my job (Human Resources) and just re-locate to our Downtown LA office.
How long have you been in LA?
So, I think we need to drum up some more interest in the Club to make it successful....any friends that might be interested?
I've been in the LA area for about six years and moved to Sherman Oaks a year ago. I manage a mental health center and have an evening private practice. I grew up on the central coast of california, and my friends are spread throughout the state. My friends in this area aren't really into cooking, hence the websearch... Hopefully we'll get some more people who respond to this thread!
Nicole - I also posted a message on Craigslist and one on the SFV Forum. Last night I got one other response, so we're up to the three of us! I think I'd like to shoot for about 5 people...maybe give it another week or so?
That's great! Yes, lets give a a week or so.....
I think we have about 6 people interested now...Craigslist seemed to work a little better than this website...makes sense, it's more local.
Anyway, do me a favor, send me an email at email@example.com. I'll be sending out the first 'meeting' invite from that address and want to add your email to my address book.
If there's anyone else interested in joining our "Cooking Club" of women in their 20s and 30s - we'll proably have our first meeting next weekend. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to attend.
