ISO: sides for CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS W/SWEET AND SPICY SAUCE

    Hi All,

We are having company on Saturday and I would like to serve Chicken Lettuce Wraps w/Sweet and Spicy Sauce. I'm at a loss as to what to serve with this....fruit? That doesn't sound like enough nor sophisticated.
    Any ideas?

You could serve fried or fresh spring rolls. Sticky rice would be nice too.

A spicy soup would be nice too.

    Shoyski --

Thanks for posting that recipe -- I have never noticed it before. Have you tried it already? I wonder if using leftover rotisserie chicken would work out, or I can just cook up some boneless chicken.

Looks real good and so easy. This has now moved up to the top of my to try list.

    Have a great party.

    Thanks again.

When I went to the local Thai place, they served the spicy food with a cucumber salad dressed with a simple rice vinegar and sugar dressing. It was a nice counterpoint to the heat of the dishes we sampled.

I've served it with a cold rice salad that DH loves.

Thanks for all the ideas, guys. The recipe received a good review so I'm glad to have a bunch of differernt sides to try since we'll probably make this one again.

Applecrisp, we haven't made this yet but I'll try to remember to post a review.

I was going to say a Thai cucumber salad - you could probably find a recipe online.

Also wanted to tell you that I make a similar RR recipe (that I have revised) and use broccoli/carrot slaw instead of regular slaw. I like it better because the broccoli retains a little more crunch.

Do you think this would work with browned, ground chicken/turkey? I'm wondering what would happen if you poured the sauce into the pan with the meat for a minute or even less at the end of the cooking? Do you think it would need cornstarch?
