I'm glad it's not in our forecast! What happened to the early spring the groundhog predicted? I guess it came and left already.

Would our other Coloradoans shoot me if I said send it here? Really, I just want it in the mountains, not in Denver, but I want snow up there so spring skiing is good.

Ew, I don't think I'd like that either.

Ah, what would a week be like on the CL boards if we didn't complain about the weather?!

As for the thread about annoying sayings and quirks - I'm quite sure that DH would put complaining about the weather down as one of mine.

Yikes! It does seem too early for those kinds of temperatures. And I was complaining that we were going to hit 86 degrees here... I want more mild spring weather and some more rain before we get towards the summer weather.

Not at all - I would love more snow. Isn't March supposed to be our snowiest month?

That's what I thought! I guess the good part is the roads aren't as nasty getting to the mountains but this year it has seemed like there have been just as many stupid rollovers on dry roads heading up there as on the snowy/icy roads. I know I've passed two in the last 2 months at least.

Uh, oh. It's starting to change over already. We've had quite a bit of rain - I hope this doesn't turn out to be a big icy mess (especially while the kids are still in school)! Maybe I'll go fill the tubs in case this turns into an ice storm or something...............

It started out sunny this morning ("down" here in Baltimore), but is clouding over now. I guess the storm is headed this way!

It's still nice here in Philly and in the 60's but it's supposed to start sleeting and up to six inches of snow by tomorrow. Or something like that, the weather reports weren't too clear!!

I wish it sleet enough so I wouldn't have to go to work but that's another story.

Alysha, come out and play! I was just out at the farmers' market (tomatoes and strawberries already?) and it felt like the low 70s. Sunny and pleasant. Let's get shopping!

    Sounds wonderful!

No way - tomatoes? We won't see those until July around here!

Max yesterday was 70, max today was 62 and predicted max tomorrow is 32, with 100% chace of precipitation (ice pellets)

Looks like possible precipitation and 35 on Saturday so I just feel sorry for those marching in the St. Paddy's Day parade - so much for the luck of the Irish!!

Actually, "the luck of the Irish" is an ironic saying, since the Irish have been notoriously unlucky throughout history.

Woke up this morning to no snow, so I thought maybe my little snow dance worked. Maybe not - it's still coming but now it's a warning and they are calling for more accumulation than they were yesterday. Maybe up to 10 inches - though I doubt we'll see that much - it's the Eastern counties and the Poconos where they seem to expect the most.

I'm off to sub in the middle school office today - wonder if we'll be dismissing early???

    Stay warm, safe and dry!

Oooh, I'm cranky today. I'm supposed to be flying into Raleigh NC this afternoon, for an 8 AM workshop on Saturday. Instead, I got a call from Continental last night saying they'd cancelled my flight for today... and they couldn't reschedule me until tomorrow afternoon. Too late. So they got me on a flight from Philadelphia at 1:00 today, connecting in Cleveland, which still shows as being "on schedule" but from the weather report it looks like I might not be leaving Philly. Ugh. And I have to drive to the airport through this nice wintry mix, which always makes me nervous! Cross your fingers for me, that if I do get on the plane, we have a safe flight!

    Fingers crossed!

It's hard when these things don't pick up steam until things are already underway - school, work, etc. It leaves so much more uncertainty than if it were to pick up steam overnight and you knew before you started out............

Thanks, Alysha! The other thing I realized this morning is that while they changed my outgoing flight, I'm still scheduled to *return* to Newark- but my car will be in Philly.

    I love traveling for work.

Hope it works out for you. Since it's for work, I think they would be willing to pay for a limo or other transportation to/from the airport. That way, you have no car to worry about. Good luck.

Ugh... so true! We flew out of Des Moines where it had been in the high 70's all week into DC late last night and had the 80 minute drive home in lots of rain. We woke up this morning to the news telling us we are suppose to get 6-10" of snow today... bah!

    Talking Think Spring!!!

I am afraid we can't put the boots and shovels and other stuff away just yet. To make believe it's not still winter, I am headed to a garden show where they have huge displays of gardens in bloom. At least I can fake it for the afternoon.

But hey, winter won't be around much longer. I've seen about a dozen robins in the past few days and my daffodils are about 4-6 inches high. And the huge, huge flocks of Canada Geese flying over! Wow! And once the robins hit town, spring is really right around the corner.

    Just a couple more days...

Hi Joe. Is it hard getting back into the swing of cold weather? From your screen name here, I assume you lived in MN, so you're not a stranger to winter weather, but how long were you in AZ? Where are you from originally? If you don't mind my asking.........

It cracks me up that between your HealthyinMN screen name and Culinary in the Desert/Country blog, you're leaving a trail of where you've been.........

Well, I went to sub in the middle school office today, but they ended up getting out at 1:00. It's kind of nice to have a longer afternoon, but I don't get called for many full days of subbing and one of my other full days got shortened due to the Valentine's Day storm.

So much for the snow going away. I'd say we have at least a good 4 inches so far. It was slow-going coming home, but I put the van in low gear and I was able to make it up all the hills in my development. Whew! Almost didn't make the driveway, though.............I couldn't even see where the driveway was compared to the lawn!

Safe travels to anyone out in this stuff!

It is/was hard since my raynaud's issue is making a fierce come back since moving out here. I was born in CA, lived in MI for a few years and spent the rest of my youth growing up in MN - Jeff and I lived in Phoenix for just about 2 years before we moved out here. I'm hearing grumblings and I think Jeff is getting the "itch" to move again - always happens every year and 1/2 or so! He is mentioning Minneapolis (memories after we drove through town this past weekend!) again or maybe the San Fran/Carlsbad/Concord area for something different. Who knows though!

Are you SURE you're not in the Witness Protection Program??

Hope Jeff doesn't mind a commute, cuz Carlsbad is around 500 miles from SF/Concord! Come on west - it's a beautiful day!

Silly... those cites are just options as that is where his work has fairly large offices

Already?! Do you all like where you are now or does that not really have anything to do with it?

Sounds like maybe you're game though (through lack of complaining )........

    But back to winter weather.........

I don't know how much we have now, but we had to shovel the driveway just enough so that DH could get his car up and in the garage. Tomorrow will probably be spent shoveling the rest.

I really thought this might turn into nothing much, but I think I was wrong! I'm just so glad tomorrow is Saturday so that no one has to try to go anywhere. Looks like a baking and cooking weekend......
