    Cool What Got You Hooked?

One of my sisters sent me this link What Got You Hooked? that let's you vote for your favorite first book and then for your state to be the recipient of 50,000 books for underprivileged kids. Since I know there are tons of readers on the BB I thought I'd share the link.

Cool! I voted for NC since their education system is so bad. Currently, Nebraska is in first place.

Thanks - I voted and passed it on.......

Cool! Thanks for the link. I voted and passed it along. I noticed that Tennessee is currently in second place. We already have a program in place, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, in which every child in the state is eligible to receive a free book per month from birth to age five (all the parents have to do is register their child). Maybe this can be used to enhance that program.

    How Cool!!!

I just voted and I was surprised at the state in the lead, currently Neb. I was just talking with my daughter about this exact question last week.

    I miss spoke (typed)

B is for Betsy was the first book that I loved, the second book by the same writer Carolyn Haywood was Primrose Day about the English Girl.

If you all have children, these are simple easy reads, there is a whole like, much like the Bobsey Twin books, simple good children's books.

In fact this thread made me research them and order them for my Library I am building for any Grandchildren that may eventually come...LOL

I know many of you didn't respond to this thread but for those that did I wanted to update you with the results. The book I voted for actually came in first! Nancy Drew and the winning state was Oklahoma!
