ISO sides for Maui beef short ribs

I did "the thing" I never do, and picked up premarinated meat at TJ's--Maui beef short ribs. They are marinated in soy, honey, ginger, sesame oil, garlic, an pineapple. Now I'm trying to figure out what to put with them. I could always do steamed broccoli, but I'd like to do something more exciting than that.

I'm thinking I recently saw a salad with pineapple vinagairette. Does that sound familiar to anyone? For dessert, I could do grilled pineapple drizzled with honey-sweetened yogurt and chopped macadamias (except I don't have any macadamias--almonds, maybe?)

Any better ideas for veggie/starch than steamed broccoli?

You could do a quick veggie stir-fry and some rice pilaf. A cucumber salad? Or how about one of the many sesame noodles recipes that are always around the board? Although maybe that would be too much Asian seasoning. Honestly, a simple veggie side and a sticky rice sounds good to me.

The sesame noodles are a great idea, and really jump-started the thought processes here. There are three recipes in WW TOT, which I'm trying to cook through right now, so I'll pick one based on what looks good at the store. I'm also going to make the grilled salad in the current Bon Appetit, but make a vinagairette icorporating pineapple and, perhaps, coconut in some way, and add some chopped, toasted macadamias. Steamed broccoli will make the vegetable side, and I'll grill bananas and pineapple slices for dessert, and top them with sweetened yogurt and chopped macadamias.

After all that planning, I think I'm going to put this meal off until tomorrow night, as I'm going to whole foods today and picking up some ahi for another Bon Appetit recipe. I like to cook fish the same day I bring it home.

    Thanks again for the inspiration!
