Question What to bring, wear, ect??????

On another post Cindy mentioned hiking boots and it got me thinking. I know it's going to be really HOT. What should we be planning to bring to wear for all the activities. For example the catered dinner at CL is it casual or should we plan to be "dressed". We'll be packing before you know it!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. We'll be driving up in a two-seater because our other choice is a gas-guzzling SUV and gas is $1.60/gallon. Since space is pretty limited I don't want to pack more than I need!

I'll be putting together a list of things to remember for the trip. I'll have it posted by the end of the week.

    Thanks!

Gas is only $1.60! Maybe we should move. We sold our SUV, thankfully, just before this round of gas price hikes.

Okay, Pat, I'll stop complaining now.

But we're still bringing the two-seater.

    Equipment needed for the hike:
One of our editors that will be going (Billy Sims) recommends either running shoes or light hiking shoes. Absolutely no need for boots.

You may want to bring a bandana or something to wipe the sweat, maybe a hat.

The trails are through the woods so they're shaded. The temperature may be in the low 90's.

    We'll provide water and granola.

The website for the national park you'll be going to is: http://www.bham.net/oakmtn/index.html

What will we need to wear for the rest of the weekend besides the hike? Is the dinner Sat. night casual or formal? Thanks!

I agree that I would like a bit of guidance on whether Saturday will be casual or dressy and what everyone is wearing on Friday.

I would like to know what kind of dress to expect for the dinner and for Friday also. It would make packing a lot easier than trying to bring clothes for all circumstances! Help!
Can't wait to meet everyone! Hope I can keep busy all day Saturday -- is anyone else traveling by themselves?

It's not formal. I wouldn't suggest jeans or shorts or anything that requires a crinolin - but just about anything i n between is probably ok. It is a sit-down dinner with tablecloths and wine if that helps you decide.
