    What goes with cornbread?

I have a craving for cornbread. What sort of quick recipe, other than a soup, goes well with cornbread?

    TIA!

    corn bread

Pinto beans to sop up the juices with, good with fried Catfish, good in the morning with milk on the cornbread and a dash of sugar...

We have cornbread with soup and chili most often, but I have also made it next to simple meals like pork chops, green beans and sweet potatoes. My DH really likes it so I will just add it in from time to time with almost anything.

We just had Rachel Ray's Chicken Sausages with Peppers and Corn cakes. It was great. Maybe some sort of spicy Italian sausage, sauted peppers and onions and honey and butter to go with it.

Here in the South, cornbread can be served with any kind of "home cooking" meal. It goes especially well with anything spicy and any beans 'n' greens type meals.

I also really enjoy cornbread with a chef salad, as well as things previously mentioned.

Peas! As in purple hull or blackeyed. My DH considers "peas and cornbread" one word.

I think I'm going to go in this direction:

So I ran to the store, and I bought pork chops and green beans. I went home and looked up a recipe for the pork, pulled out my box of cornmeal...my empty box of cornmeal. Lucky for me, it wasn't completely empty. 1/2 cup of cornmeal was enough to make a half recipe of sweet corn muffins!

So I ended up with sweet corn muffins, cinnamon applesauce, sauteed pork chops, and green beans with toasted almonds. So good!

    Thanks!
