OT: What does your Avatar say about you?

There are so many different avatars showing up, I thought it would be interesting to find out just why people chose the symbols that they did.

I'll start.... my carrot will tell you about the color of my hair!

(Of course this thread will be hard to follow in a few weeks if some of us decide to change avatars again - LOL!)

My avatar points to one of the things I enjoy - wine (or grapes, however you look at it).

But, like many things in my life, it will change - as will my quote. Something else will pique my interest, depending on the mood of the day.

I picked the kitty because I love them! I also love dogs but I just have two kitties right now.

Mine says "I tried to upload a custom avatar from a website and it didn't work, so this was the next best thing."

Actually, I like this artichoke picture. I picked it because no else seemed to be using it (that I've seen yet, anyway) and because I'm a vegetarian, and because artichokes are interesting looking and one of my favorite vegetables.

Mine is because of my lifelong love of dolphins. I begged Maelynn to help me find one. I may alternate with a fish, starfish, etc, but basically I love all things marine

The dragonfly reminds me of my husband. He is Scots and I remember reading Diane Gabaldon's Dragonfly in Amber (actually I read the whole series) while he was in the UK for a few months and I just loved them.

    What would Freud say?

I won a blue ribbon for "Most Cheerful" in the first grade, Mrs. Allman's class. Just trying to live up to my own reputation.

Really though, this image just makes me smile. And it complements my title Folle de vin.

Mine actually works for me in two way. I love bears. Took rolls of film of a black bear many years ago in Yellowstone Nat'l Park. And in college I even got little gold bear earrings and a stuffed bear as b.d. gifts! And, I also enjoy working out in aerobics classes.

Besides the fact that no one had (oddly) picked the martini glass yet and the fact that I could not find an unpicked one that really fit me, I chose it. Cause, ya'll, it is so, so hot, he-a in the South and we southern wimmen need ow-a ****-tails now and again to sip on our verandas while we swat the skeeters and tell our old storieds over and over again! Of course, I am in the middle of (another) in-vitro cycle, so cocktails are just a happy memory!

Well, I wanted to put my own in, but it would not work. Then I put a coffee cup in. Then I changed it to the Palm Tree since we are going to Hawaii in less than 2 weeks. I will end up changing it again, but not sure to what yet. I still have not thought of a title for myself, but I am far from "senior" as well.

Until they come up with an avatar of a vertically-challenged, chubby chick with big eyes, big hair and guided-missle boobs, I'm using the next best one...I'm a serious dog lover! Plus, that cross-eyed/tongue-waggin' look on his face just kinda fit the moment!

Beth Y, you cracked me up! Some people probably think we really do talk that way!

I chose mine because it is pretty and no one seemed to have it yet. I'm sure I will change it when the bugs are worked out of the system for the personalized ones.

Mine tells that I just love all things tropical! It would have to be a palm tree or a flamingo...... when the wind chill gets below 65 I'm freezing!

    Going back to my roots.

Lately I've been really homesick for Sonoma County. My avatar evokes the area, so that's why I chose it. Also, for some reason I think it goes with my quote. I wish I could come up with a good title--any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

(Later) Of course now I've changed my avatar and added a title so this post doesn't make sense anymore. Oh well, it's a woman's prerogative...

Hmmm...what does my avatar say about me??? Scary.

I picked mine because it was a little different and it was animated - I'm obsessed with animated graphics. But, I haven't really found one that really works. However, this one will have to do because I wasted WAY too much time looking around! I do have one possibility, so mine may change....

I picked mine because I thought it was cute and colorful, and I also collected bears when I was in high school. I collected them for many years, and although I do not anymore I still have(and love) the collection. Most of them were European or English stuffed bears(Steiff). My very first bear from the collection still sleeps next to me every night on my bedside stand!!

I chose mine because I have 2 pups who are the lights of my life. They are most definitely spoiled like children. My little boy is a Basenji named Stinky. (Sometimes we call him Dr. Stinky Wrinkleman because Basenjis have wrinkled faces and he has wrinkles on his butt, too. ) My little girl is a Basenji - Jack Russel mix named Harley. They are a joy and nothing like that unconditional love to make you feel good when you're down.

I'd post the address so you could see a picture of them but I can't for the life of me remember the site name right now. Have to wait for the SO to get home. (Isn't that SAD?!) I'll come back and edit later.

    Heidi

Update: Well, no wonder I couldn't find the website with the pics of my pups...apparently it was wiped out a couple months ago. Shows you how often I looked at it. Oh, well. Sorry to tease.

I was excited when I found the moon & stars avatar. I have loved the moon and stars since I was a little girl.

Mine says Kim beat me to the dolphin, I like blue and no one else had picked this one yet. It also says I'm not yet ready to go searching who knows where for other graphics.

Jewel, love your title, and the post cracked me up.

    The midwest is known for...

...its lovely weather. Thus the tornado. (although a thunderstorm would be nice right about now to cool off some of our heat).

I'm originally from Nebraska (where the love of all things football is taught from birth). And I have now added the KC Chiefs to my Saturday/Sunday fall lineup, my first choice would have been a football. For now, I'll stick with the tornado.

I picked mine because I am a runner. I too love animated graphics, but I have them all on my hard drive and so far can't upload them. Also, I think all my graphics are too large

Hmm...like lindrusso, I spent too much time searching for one! It was fun though! Hard to find an appropriate one that's 50x50 too! Anyway, I thought this one went with my "title" (?). I will probably keep looking but for now this will do.

updated avatar: July 23...think this new avatar is perfect for me since I am a major bookworm! Changed my title too!

Probably will experiment with mine a number of times, but I picked the wine glass because for me, it represents sitting back, relaxing and savoring life, wine, friends, good food, whatever! Kind of how I see this board.

Mine is my college mascot! Go Dolphins! (Little tiny college in Central NY - completely landlocked! But, the dolphin is a symbol of knowledge - hence the mascot!)

I will admit it was a close call between the coffee and the dolphin!

I just picked mine because the sun is an all around great thing, nothing specific jumped out at me. I'll have to work on that!

Well, Beth, even though Maelynn looked hard for dolphins at my request, I am more that happy to share with you.....
