Home Workout Enthusiasts - week of 4/14

    Hi, guys!!

I've been MIA (so I hope you don't mind me jumping in to start the thread this week ), because I've been making excuses for not doing much fitness wise (other than chasing after a 2 year old and running around the playground ).

Did you all see the e-mail about the 2008 Cathe Road Trip?!?! Is anyone planning to go? There are 2, one in July and one in August. I'm so excited; it sold out last year in 3 minutes, and I didn't sign up until 5 minutes after registration began.

Last week I finally started doing good things -- 100 walking lunges, some Tamilee Webb, Janis Saffel's Brand New Butt & More (some interesting moves), Cathe's High Step Circuit, a 5.5 mile walk, and a 9 mile walk (all hills). Feels good!! The beach is only 2 months, 1 week away -- time to get serious LOL

I'm off to read about the amazing things you've all been doing. Hope everyone is doing well.

    Allison

Thanks for getting things started! I'm having a not terribly eventful week and won't be around next week. Vacation time again.

We did a 35 mile bike ride saturday, sunday I took off & did garden stuff. monday I did 30 treadmill, 30 elliptical and coremax 2. today I went to yoga and will do something, probably treadmill and maybe one of the cathe's GS workouts. Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Just in case you didn't notice, e mail notification does not seem to be working.

Wow, 100 walking lunges plus all that walking out to have you in serious pain. lunges KILL me. got the cathe road trip email but it's quite a trek from the west coast so I never even considered it. If I lived within driving distance I'd be checking it out though!

Well, a quiet group this week! I'm plugging along....I did LowMax on Sunday, off Monday, Supersets Tuesday, off Wednesday and KPC this morning. I really didn't plan to take off Wednesday but I haven't been sleeping well and I just couldn't get up!

Allison -- Good to *see* you! I'd love to do a Cathe road trip but it's not going to happen this summer. With so few spots, I'm sure it will fill up quickly. Good luck getting a spot! I'll be with you in spirit.

Valerie -- Your bike ride sounds wonderful! It's been so windy here that it's been hard to be outside much. Yesterday, DS and I were leaving Target and the wind blew dust and dirt from the construction site next door like I've never seen. I had grit in my teeth, dirt in my eyes and I was yelling at DS to get in the car instead of trying to help me load groceries. Not fun! Any special plans for vacation?

Have a great night, all. Hope to check in tomorrow with some cardio.

Stacy, it is a nice place to ride. it's a wide trail that runs 17 miles between two towns here. parts were old railroad right of way. and it's being extended but that will take years. It's suburban, and some still farm-sy. there are cross streets but no vehicle traffic on the trail itself so you can ride *mostly* uninterrupted. there are walkers, runners, dogs, horses, skaters, you name it. Very laid back compared with riding on roads with real car traffic. a RT is about 35 miles, takes approx 3 hours and is a great workout.

I did KPC yesterday and got sore! I haven't done it for a while but didn't expect that. I've been active, just hadn't done that particular workout. today 30 treadmill, 30 elliptical and the core section from KPC. I will get those pikes!

Next week is vacation, going to Yellowstone although it is still pretty snowy. but we only have a week and all the places we'd want to go are still snowy!! so ski and snowshoe and maybe a little hiking. and as always, critter watching. best place for that.

Valerie -- That ride sounds so nice! We don't have anything like that around here. Three hours would be quite the workout. I'd really have to work up to being on a bike that long...the rear end doesn't handle it like it used to!

I'ts nice to get a little sore from a workout. I'm finally getting the hang of KPC...but not the pikes! I still have a long way to go on that one. I do really like the woodchopper (I think that's what she calls it). It's easy for me and I still feel it the next day.

Enjoy your vacation and the critters.

I had an awesome workout this morning!! I did LIC Timesave Cardio Blast premix then added abs and the stretch. I think this is the third time I've done this premix and it was really a challenge the first two times. Today was quite different -- it was still challenging but I could really see improvement. It's such a great feeling!!!

    Have a great weekend!
