ISO remedy to remove stains of an old, white glasstop stove

Today was just one of those days for me where nothing went right. I was making a sauce at a client's home and it was supposed to reduce. Well I forgot it was boiling and needless to say it went ALL OVER THE PLACE. I spent 30 min. scrubbing the GLASS stovetop with baking soda. Got most of it off but there are still residuals. This glass top is VERY old and WAS pure white until I got my hands on it. I tried scrubbing again but the stains just would not come off. I couldn't find any bleach.

Any advice on how to bring this dinosaur back to its pristein whiteness?

I would definitely try some bleach or maybe some comet? I'm not exactly sure what the surface looks like so maybe the comet would be too abrasive? There's also this other stuff that my mom introduced me to called Folex. It got stains out of my carpet that I couldn't get out with Resolve! I can't remember if you could use it on other surfaces but I think you can. Oh and one more thing came to mind, how about Simple Green? So, these aren't tried and true but maybe they'll be helpful?

I hope your day gets better!

    stains

Try Soft Scrub Gel. It is not abrasive. I use this on my almond colored sink and it really cleans it up. Also, Sears makes a product,Cook Top. for smooth top stoves. I also use this on my stove to clean it, and it does the trick. Good luck. Vicky

Thank you so much!!! Will add it to my long list of things to try. So far I've gotten suggestions of Barkeeper's Friend; Soft Scrub w/bleach and Bon Ami. I will add yours too.

You can also try Clorox Clean-up. As the name implies, it contains bleach. If you spray it on and let it sit, it may help, too.

So what sauce were you making? (Preparing, here, to drool... )
